Jaeger-LeCoultre: Making Timepieces In The Heart Of Watch Country
I am in Switzerland C in the Jura mountains to be exact C and it is snowing. As a California guy I don't see much snow. In fact, the only times I have really seen snow in my life has been in Europe. The place looks like something out of a Christmas card. There is white covering the ground and lining the trees while quaint little buildings spew puffs of smoke out of their chimneys. It is all very charming in a sort of storybook way. It is also the perfect setting for watch making, and the winter window views of the men and women who work at Jaeger-LeCoultre.I heard some interesting history which helps to explain at least part of why there are so many watch brands up here. The mostly agrarian culture (traditionally) didn't have much to do during the long winters. So an indoor activity would have made the most sense. This area also has relatively easy to mine metal ore deposits which the people here have been using for a long time to make metal tools and things like musical instruments. O
will APSC fix jumping minute hand?
Seems it's known that the minute hand tends to jump on 15400 when pushing in the crown after setting the time. There's a few methods to reducing this tendency but I find they don't always work and it's a bit disappointing in general. Anyone ever had this remedied by apsc?
Found a Great Aftermarket Speedy Strap Option
Guys, I found a pretty good aftermarket strap option that I wanted to share. Like most I love the versatility & possibilities that the Speedy Pro offers when it comes to straps. I had tried a bunch to say the least!!Anyway check out this site stores.ebay/TimePieceRepublic for some decent options. I had been searching for some time for an alligator / deployant combo for my SP. I found this site and tried out an black alligator grain leather one with the deployant. To my surprise it is really quite good. Then I decided to see if an OEM Omega deployant would work with one of their straps. As most know the Omega deployants are designed to only work with Omega deployant straps. So I picked up a brushed Omega deployant from Ofrei and guess whatthese straps work perfect! They are high quality and available in a wide range of colors, options, etc If you want to pair one up with a OEM original deployant its all good. Make sure you order the straps designed for an Omega deployant. At t
Simple white gold Calatrava
Guys,I had a pic of Putin with a watch I believe what a WG Calatrava but lost it - was trying to identify the ref. Long story short, am looking for my first WG Calatrava that would be a classic model (no longer in production) with perhaps a date function but no subdials. Any ideas on references? A size 36-38mm would be fine. 5119G from the current collection is quite nice but a bit too fancy in my opinion for work use.I have a 5712 in steel and a 5196J.Thanks.
