Great AP article in WatchTime from 2004 + the making of the RO case
.mkmotorsport/AP_WT_2004_01_034pdf.pdfIt does a great job to cover the imperative years from 1999-2004 which cemented the success and importance we are seeing today.Bonus: a nice article by Walt Odets (yes, that Walt) on the making of the Royal Oak case .timezone/library/horo...70172488072079

Patek service options?
Hello everyone! I wanted to get your thoughts on options to have my Patek Aquanaut serviced - aside from the Henri Stern Watch Agency. I've used Stern before and they do a wonderful job....but they are quoting 5 to 6 months for a service. That just seems crazy! In essence, I am just looking to have the watch regulated since it has now begun to lose about 12 seconds per day.Any of you know of a reputable service shop that handles Patek? Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!
thinking my next watch may be a panerai but.....
hiI'm pretty interested in a pam 356 chrono....the daytona is just too small for me and have it be a chrono. i like the size of the omega speedy but to me, the bezel looks a bit cheesy (sorry for the rhyme)....and i love the crown guards on the panerai.....however, in as much as the references to the italian navy don't instil confidence with me, i am used to the reliability of rolex and i really have zero tolerance for a watch that needs maintenance.....i don't want the 'have to tinker with it' ferrarri type, but instead like the reliability of the mercedes or honda type -exclusive of quality issues....bottom line: am i setting myself up for issues with the pam 356 or other pams? should i look to iwc's ? thanks in advance...
Swiss watch industry recovery?
Do you think the industry has recovered? Obviously Rolex has had a solid run since last Basel, but is their rising tide raising all ships?
