Breitling Basel Preview: Avenger Seawolf Chrono Blacksteel Limited Edition
At Baselworld 2010, Breitling will unveil a special version of the Avenger Seawolf Chrono C the only chronograph that is watertight and fully operational at a depth of 1,000 meters or 3,300 feet. The new Blacksteel limited edition features a 45.4 mm steel case sporting a black carbon-based treatment. The standout feature however is Breitling’s patented magnetic pushpiece system. This system, a Breitling exclusive, activates the chronograph controls through the metal of the case, without any direct mechanical contact. This approach circumvents the Achilles heel found in traditional chronograph cases – the holes in the case and the mechanical pusher-movement interface. Breitling’s unique system eliminates the holes, allowing this chronograph to function at extreme depths. This diver’s chronograph is also equipped with a decompression valve and a glareproof sapphire crystal for optimal readability. Breitling’s SuperQuartz caliber provides a level of accuracy
Hands-On: The A. Lange & S?hne Richard Lange Jumping Seconds
It’s not too much to say that for us at HODINKEE, one of the highlights of the year is seeing new pieces from A. Lange & Söhne at the SIHH. Naturally, not everything is a home run, and if you go through our office everyone will have their own personal favorites (as well as watches they think weren’t entirely successful) but in general, right now, in fine watchmaking, we (and I) feel that A. Lange & Söhne is one of a very small handful of watchmaking companies really taking the necessary time, and putting in the necessary effort, to produce watches that absolutely deliver on the promise of craft and attention to detail that’s implicit in the phrase haute horlogerie. 1 OF 6 As I said, everyone has their own personal favorites; I’ve always had it pretty bad for the Richard Lange family of watches and the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds just pulled into the pole position. It’s not the most complex of the Richard Lange watch
Every day wearing AP
Hi,Love the AP forum. For me I'm interested in the RO. Can anyone comment please on the 15202, 15300 and 15400 as daily wearers. I have a nice 116610lv and I like the reliability and durability of rolex. I think the genta design is fab but is it impracticable for the everyday? I enjoy the watch that is with me as I garden or swim but is also ok for work. Looking forward to owners thoughts. I guess I'm really wanting to hear about robustness from owners. I'd have to have a bracelet and I readily acknowledge I know very little about ap so please feel free to inform me. I'm ready to learn. Thanks in advance. Steve.
Trade 16570 for FOIS?
Title says it all. I have both the black and white Explorer II and have been thinking of trading the black for a FOIS 1962 re-edition. It's that or sell off a couple of other Omegas to get it. Please tell me your rationale for your decision. I hate to flip but have been really thinking about what watches make sense for me longer term and I don't think that I will keep the two Speedy dates and the black Explorer II long term so I might as well trade for a piece that I see as a long term acquisition.
Rolex AD stocks predictions?
