Wondering How The Swiss Luxury Industry Will Handle Smartwatches? One Cheeky Watch Maker Proposes This Option
I've been close with Swiss watch designer Yvan Arpa for years, and I understand his particular blend of humor and unorthodox style. So with that said, his recent "announcement" about how he personally plans to benefit from the inevitable success of the Apple Watch (hands-on here) and other smartwatch devices, does not come as a particular surprise. Yvan Arpa cleverly sees a market in luxury smartwatch modification. See, for example, his mockups of a re-cased Apple Watch, in a novel solid gold case with loads of baguette-cut diamonds.Stuff like this is rather easy to make fun of, but you know it is going to happen. Yvan Arpa is just being entrepreneurial about an expectant surge in smartwatch popularity, and what could possibly be Apple Watch dominance of the segment for at least a good while. 1st Patek Purchase - Duty to USA HELP
I've been working with an AD in the EU on purchasing my first Patek and am trying to figure out what the duty would be when sending to the US where I reside. I've read conflicting percentages on different threads in this forum and want to be sure because the difference could be in the thousands.I've used the duty import calculator online that Pitney Bowes has and have come up with two different numbers between the AD and I. The calculator is confusing if you're unfamiliar. His number is quite different from mine and it almost makes the purchase not worth it, however, the number I used makes it worthwhile with the FX and VAT back. Does anyone have any experience in shipping a watch to the US? Any advice is appreciated.
Anyone brushed a SS SkyDweller?
Would love to see if anyone has had their SS Skydweller brushed. Thinking of doing it if/when I get one from my AD. Love the functionality of the piece, but not so hot on PCLs.
