Service recommendations
I just got a manual wind (lemania) mid 90's Navitimer Cosmonaut, by the way it looks great, not mint but solid. I just noticed the chrono stop button is not working, and the hour hand is not moving all the time I think, I'm located on the east coast 1.5 hour south of philly. Can anyone recommend a great watch maker. I can ship it as well, didn't want to send to Breitling int. I don't know if they try an replace hands and dial with service parts as this has a patina dial goin on. Any vintage guys out there highly recommended? Thanks
Say hello to my new Planet Ocean
Hi guys... I have never purchased a watch over $500 until this year when I got my Daytona and now less than a month later I picked this up. You guys have started a sickness! This is from a local AD that was going out of business so I couldn't let it go at the price offered. It was about 33% off from the 2007 prices so really way over 40% off of the current retail.Excellent box and papers:This things also can be used as a home security device: If someone breaks into your house you can throw it at them and knock them out cold!!!!!Lousy wrist shots.... regular point and shoot cameras can't take pictures of watches......I haven't even worn it out of the house yet. I think I'll wear the Daytona for 6 months and wait for this one to start begging to be worn before I give in. Then I'll open the box and have that brand new watch smell all over again!
Brexit day pick up!!!
So, a few months back you might remember I bought a 5711 Nautilus... .rolexforums/showthread.php?t=455077I absolutely loved that watch but ultimately I ended up giving it to my Dad for being a good bloke. This left me happy to have been able to do that for him but sadly it left me with a Patek-shaped hole in my soul that I really wanted to fix. I decided there was only one watch to replace a blue dial 5711 Nautilus and so put myself down on lists with dealers I have good contacts with and although I was confident I would get one before the end of 2016, I was equally confident that I'd get hit by either a Brexit or regular currency related price increase before I succeeded. When I woke this morning and Mrs C told me we were oooooot, after a few minutes thought dedicated to the more important things in life, I thought... well that's going to be my Patek costing even more then. However (!!!) after 20 minutes at work I got a call from one of my contacts who was delighted to tell me my watch
So I walked in to buy a 312...
...but two ADs later I ended up with a 510. This is my first venture into the Paneristi and glad I finally popped my cherry :). Based on pictures I was certain I was buying a 312...after trying it on it fealt awkward. Wanting an auto I move on to the 104...but I could not get past the lack of sandwhich dial. The staff at Tourneau suggested I consider the 510 and after much debate this was the winner! Love it!
Was 43mm SD red updated in 2018? And compares to updated 44mm DSSD ..
Question, I found myself looking at 43mm SD red vs the updated 44mm DSSD.I tried on the DSSD before but bracelet was my complain. But I have not tried on the 43mm red SD yet.I do wonder if the 43mm red SD was updated this year? And the new 44mm DSSD looks like it resolved my complain about the bracelet.I guess I would have to wait until the new 44mm DSSD is out to confirm. What do you guys think about the 43mm red SD vs the new 44mm DSSD as in portion on the wrist, wear comfort?
