What Is The Best Size For A Watch?
This simple, and highly subjective question seems to have an answer. The question is particularly interesting to me because for the past decade, watch brands have been going back and forth with watch sizes. We saw watches really grow up to almost preposterous dimensions, and then suddenly awkwardly shrink again. Watch brands want to make watch sizes that people want to buy. At the same time, men and women not too familiar with what is in fashion or style might not know a good size to get for themselves or a loved one.I recently asked a question to my readers during the May 2011 watch giveaway. The question was simply to answer what your ideal watch size is (and by this I mean diameter in millimeters). I figured that responses would be all over the board, but I was really amazed at how consistent the responses where (sample group of about 500 responses). There does not seem to be a clear majority winner, but I would say that if you are in the market to buy a watch or make one, you shoul
No love for AP Royal Oak Chrono 26320? Owners PLS show photos here :D
Hi everyone, I've been looking at getting an AP. I'm kind of torn between the 1.AP ROO (not the new ones with the exhibition back)2. and the AP ROC. I'm looking at definitely looking for a timeless watch, which will be relatively easy keep. I flip alot of watches, my Breitlings/IWC/Hamiltons etc but with this sort of money, i'm looking at a watch to keep for a long time. Some points i'm considering are:1. Whether the ROO will eventually be too 'large' for modern standards in say another 10-20 years (I know this is hard to gauge, and is more often than not subjective)2. How well the rubber parts on the crowns and pushers for the ROO would last (some say they go after a couple of years and are an expensive option to replace)3. Piggybacked movement for the AP ROO (although it is still an inhouse movement)4. Non-inhouse movement for the AP ROC (although I understand it is a highly regarded F Piguet movement)5. Size of the two watches, I have a PAM and I feel an AP ROO wears smaller. 6. I h
Missed estimate by Clearwater
So I sent in my Diver under warranty to the Clearwater facility on the 4th of September to get an adjustment since the watch was running 15+ seconds a day. A couple of days later, I had recieved the estimate that the repair would be done by approximately about four weeks. At the end of the second week I gave them a call to get an update what has been done to my watch. They said that my watch is in QC and should be ready in a week (a week short of the estimate). I was very pleased. This week I gave them a call and she said that my watch is going back to the watchmaker because it has failed the quality control. She said that a pinion has to be replaced and they are ordering the part directly from Switzerland. Which it would take about another four weeks. I am worried that the watch would not be done before I leave the country and that they cant mail the watch outside the US. My question is has anyone here have the same issue that I am having (missed estimate) and how long does it take f
Dump Daytona for Navy???
Hey guys, I'm strongly considering selling my 116509 (Met dial) and picking up a Navy Themes.Daytona Cons: I don't wear the Daytona very much, I miss the date function, the screw down pushers are inconvienent for spur of the moment timing and I feel it's a little small on me.it's beautiful and I've always wanted it, but I just don't wear it very much. I've also always loved the Navy... It's a lil larger, has date function, non screw down pushers, that beautiful horn back strap and plus its an AP.Any thoughts???
Speedmaster has landed
