Frederique Constant Maxime Manufacture Watch Collection At Basel + Video
Frederique Constant has something to be proud about. At the very least it should be something?that is exiting to fine watch consumers. While not the only company to offer relatively low cost in-house made movements, their new Maxine Manufacture Collection watches are beautifully made and feature a totally in-house made Swiss movement for under 2000 Euros. Typically the cost for in-house made manufacture movements is much higher. The new movement is the FC-700 automatic, and is the accumulation of over three years of development. What surprises me is the look and feel of the movement. The focus on aesthetics in the layout of the elements (such as the placement of the balance wheel) is complimented by a level of decoration not expected at these modest price points. The gold rotor, perlage and other polishing, and use of blue screws makes viewing the movement a pleasure. Nothing makes me feel better than taking off my watch and showing it to a friend (especially those that don't know about
This or That - Playing Field Leveled
So I had a chance to stop by the NYC AP Boutique...yet again. And the lovely people there had both a new 15400 and a new 15300 (with the updated clasp and bracelet). So for me it's now all about which size is best for me. I don't really have much of an opinion about dial design but I do think that if I went for a 15300 I'd look for a white dial with the updated clasp/bracelet as it makes the watch look a little bigger (Mike's continuous barrage of pics also helps)Here are the pics. I hate you all for pushing me into the awesome and expensive world of Audemars Piguet.
Breitling tang buckle differences?!?!
I am hoping someone can shed some light on this. I have three of the newer style tang buckles...all 20mm..that are all slightly different. The first is polished, has a raised wings logo and has A20BA.1 engraved on the underside. The second is polished, has a raised wings logo...although it doesn't appear to be quite as crisp as the one mentioned above and no alpha-numerical code engraved on the underside. The third is brushed, has a raised wings logo and no alpha-numerical code engraved on the underside. Are these differences due to year of production, model of watch or strap it came on or due to something else entirely? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
White Dial Nautilus (5711/1A-011) Appreciation Thread
In my opinion, the white dial nautilus is very often looked over. In some cases it even gets a lot of unjustified hate. I know there are a bunch of owners here so feel free to post up your pics!
