Wanna get one AP watch. Needs some advices
Hi everyone,It's me, I have posted a thread about 116500 vs 15710st.I own 116613LB, breitling avenger ii chron and 116500 white.I wonder whether Daytona C is suit for me.I have two candidates, one is 15400OR black/white dial with leather strap, another is AP RO chronograph black/white dial with leather stap. Can everyone give me some suggestions?(I'm not sure about selling Daytona C which is correct thing.)Thank you guys
Who has insurance
Having just brought my AP, and normal content insurance does not cover the value,Do you all insure your watches And if so and in the uk, any heads up on companies would be appreciated
Incoming....decision made.
Guys... I really wanted to thank all of you that helped me with the decision, and pitched in with sugestions and observations. The 5170g (God willing) will be in my future but with a black dial to complement better the collection. God bless to you all.
Aquanaut Toughness?
How tough is the Aquanaut?I was a long-time wannabe PP owner until I finally bought a 5127J last year. After owning just Rolex watches, I've wanted that Calatrava for a while because I think it is very refined. Now I have the sickness. PP's are worse than Lay's. You know you can't have just one. I was/am a Rolex wearer and own several. I've slowly started giving them away to family members. Now that I'm middle-aged and don't have fantasies of living a life of action and adventure and am a family man, the appeal of Rolex is diminishing while that of PP is growing. So my question to everyone here: How tough is the Aquanaut? Would you say it is as robust as the Submariner? Can it take a beating? By which I mean travel, some diving (not below 60M...it is a diving watch after all), carrying stuff (kids, boxes, usual rubbish), and normal day to day wear. I'm not a Navy Seal or anything like that. I'm not going to be jumping out of planes and rolling around in hand to hand combat
Got to try on the YG DD40 with romans
I've been thinking about the DD40 for awhile now and the nearest ADs were too far away for me to stroll in for a 20min look around. Well I was able to get to an AD the other day and put on the YG DD40 and they just so happened to have the one I would want- the silver dial with romans:Hodinkee's photo:The president bracelet was the most impressive thing. I've read people describe that the bracelet drapes over your wrist and I never understood that until now. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Now anybody who is here knows that a YG Day-Date with a fluted bezel is going to be a showy piece. Even if you have never seen one in person. I knew that before I stepped into the AD, but it is something else in person. The whole watch is designed to reflect light- the silver sunburst dial, the roman hour markers, the fluted bezel, the polished sides of the case and bracelet. Frankly, the dial reflects light so much, I almost felt like I was distracted by it and telling the time was secondary.Oft
