Pre-SIHH: Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomtre Quantime Lunaire 40.5
Next month at SIHH Jaeger-LeCoultre will introduce the new Duomtre Quantime Lunaire 40.5 – a slightly smaller version of the original 42.5mm watch that debuted in 2010. The new model’s case measures 13.07 mm thick and is 18k pink gold. Production is not limited.Jaeger-LeCoultre’s goal with the Duomtre series is to develop complicated watches that keep time with great accuracy. The goal is achieved by means of the Caliber 381’s “dual-wing” design which features two independent power supplies: one regulated by the escapement and balance, and the other for the time, date and age of the moon displays. This arrangement takes the complications out of the power loop, so to speak, allowing a smooth flow of energy to the escapement. As an added horological bonus, this piece incorporates a jumping foudroyante seconds hand showing 1/6th of a second incrementsplete technical specifications appear below the image.Technical SpecificationsMovement? My First Grail Watch: Pierre Jacques Of De Bethune
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. And before all of that, I founded GMT Magazine in 2000.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?PJ: Watchmaking is a passion, and I can't remember when it started - maybe when I broke my PD (editor's note: a savings account) to buy a Kelton? After that, I started saving money to buy watches.ABTW: What was your first grail watch?PJ: My first grail watch was a Zenith Chronograph when I was 14 years old.ABTW:?That'

Yachtmaster - No Love for the 116622
So I'm considering a YM 116622 in either blue or rhodium grey. As I'm perusing the posts, it seems it's not one of the favored Rolex models on the forum. I've noticed a couple of common themes:---Some people think it has an identity crisis (not sporty or dressy)---Some people have referred to it as feminineI think it's a great looking watch and am wondering if it's the price point that makes it a bit of a red-headed stepchild on the forum?Curious to get some thoughts...
