Watch Winner Review: Mark Carson Hawaii Ka La
Shawn H. from Simi Valley, California was the lucky winner of the Mark Carson Hawaii Ka La watch that was the watches-dealer giveaway piece in August. Here are his thoughts and wrist shots:The human mind is a complicated thing. Upon entering The watches-dealer Giveaway, I left a positive comment and I said that I was going to win the Individual Design Mark Carson Ka La Watch. ?How did I know that? ?I'm not quite sure. Because, to be honest, I thought to myself that it was a pretty nice watch. ?But, it's not a watch that I would spend my hard earned money on.Long after forgetting about this watch, I received an email from Ariel Adams that I was the winner. ?I couldn't Google fast enough to see which watch that I had won. ?I said to myself, " Oh yeah, I remember that watch". ?So, I started learning as much as I could about this watch. ?And before the excitement wore off, I was in love with it. ?So, now the wait began. ?Mark Carson was away from his home on the Hawaiian Islands, where the
Meeting of the White Knights
It was a nice meeting with Ben this afternoon over some coffee and watch talks! Ben! Your 15400 was indeed splendid! You have made an excellent decision to select the white dial which really dances with lights (although it is hard to show in photos)
Bergeon 7825 work on Omega Speedmaster??
Hi all - I have a Bergeon 7825 that I use to make frequent strap changes on my rolex sub. Looking to pick up an Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch in near future, and plan to change up frequent straps on this one as well, but want to do so without scratching my new Speedy up in the process. Am curious as to whether the 7825 will work on the Speedmaster or will I need a new strap changing tool? Any thoughts from someone with experience with this particular question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!
Some wrist-shots of my new PO
This is my second PO I've had in about a year. I first got the 45.5mm and while I love it, it just wasn't comfortable to me. The 42mm has completely changed my mind :)Rolex needs to start AR coating their crystals. It make such a difference.
This (5712r) or That (5980r)?
With which piece would you round out this collection, removing price from the equation? The collection consists of the Platona and the SD4k. If I move forward with one of the below, I would flip my 5712/1a towards it. I've surprised myself; my tastes have changed over the past several years, and I now am drawn to a rose gold watch, something I didn't think would happen. Part of the appeal is the rose gold with brown leather strap, so a full-on rose (or yellow) gold watch (i.e. including bracelet) is not in the running. While I love the moonphase of the 5712/1a and the microrotor, and I have a chrono in the Platona, is the 5980r the clear winner? They definitely wear differently, so any feedback by owners is welcome! I truly find both amazing pieces, and sadly () both speak to me! Or, leave well enough alone???Thanks in advance for your thoughts. The 5712r or The 5980r
