HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 93 - The Appendix of the Watch World
John goes out of his way to embarrass Ariel - he needs a girlfriend from the Ukraine. More on SIHH - we talk about Richard Mille RM 056 Sapphire crystal-cased watch (1,000 hours to machine each case) how much it costs, and how a slew of virgins must somehow be involved in that kind of pricing. More from the show and the completely unnecessary pain and loneliness that the watch industry and conventions in Switzerland can inflict. We also talk about more reasonable watches like new stuff from Hamilton (a slide-rule complication that's useful - John disagrees) - X-Patrol!New version of the Konstantin Chaykin Lunokhod is a topic - Ariel thinks it's better than the one he wrote about earlier. An awkwardly-placed ad/event announcement appears in the middle of the show. John insists that James Bond is not a real person, and the Zombie Apocalypse preparation begins.Listen to the HourTime Show watch podcast episode 93 here.
New Member and first watch: 16013, 16014, or ?
Hi TRF Members,My very first post and wanted to say hello and thank you for the vast amount of great information here. I'm finally at the point in my horological life where I'm ready to add a Rolex to my collection. I'm barely beginning to scratch the surface though on models, movements, history, etc. So many that I would love to own! However, for my first purchase, I'm leaning towards a vintage(ish) model for a couple of reasons. Cost being one (although I realize certain vintages can command some serious money), and just partial to vintage (or vintage looking) watches in general. From the info I've gathered in the past few weeks, I think I've narrowed down my search to two models. The 16013 or 16014. How I came up with them was as follows:Must have acrylic crystal (just love the vintage vibe it gives)Be 36mm caseMust hackHave Fluted BezelHave Jubilee bracelet Prefer black or blue dial Still on the fence between two-tone and not two-tone though, hence the two models. Please Let me know
Rolex AD stocks predictions?
Any idea when the Rolex AD is gonna have fairly balanced supply/demand? Maybe after Baselworld 2018? The secondhand market is booming right nowSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good move
New to me , just received a 214270 39 mm Explorer 1 - latest incarnation First impression - Nice ! looks and wears better than expected . Easy to read and I need that [ not getting any younger ] Contrast of hands to dial & indices/ numbers is perfect . Size is right for me .36mm have been just too small - I have a small wrist for body size so need a decent size watch 39mm is very good & this actually wears a bit largeHave to give Thanks to DAVIDSW- for making purchase so easy
