Audemars Piguet Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition Watch
Now here is a watch that is going to be a pain for people to buy who want one. Little guys like this get wooed over when announced, a year or so seems to go by before any are actually released for sale, and then the wars begin about availability because they are so limited. With just 40 pieces to be available, expect a small fraction of that number to find their way into the United States. This is the Audemars Piguet Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition 40th Anniversary watch (ref. 15203PT.OO.1240PT.01) with a beautiful skeletonized movement and platinum case. Happy 40th anniversary Royal Oak (1972-2012).About two years ago Audemars Piguet released a watch that for me was the predecessor to this timepiece. It was the Royal Oak Skeleton watch that I discussed hands-on here. A very cool watch, the Royal Oak Skeleton was offered in steel and rose gold. It was highly esteemed and hard to get. VIDEO: The HODINKEE 2015 Year In Review
Well, it’s that time of year again – when we collectively sit back and reflect on all that has transpired over the last 12 months. So to help you remember the year in watches, we put together our annual video highlight reel, just as we did in 2013 and 2014. This is the year we sat down with mega-collector Jason Singer for an episode of Talking Watches, traveled to Japan to visit Seiko, followed each step in the making of F.P. Journe’s most complicated watch, gave the Omega Speedmaster the Reference Points treatment – and much, much more.In addition to the video above, each full-length episode can be found below. So, in no particular order, please sit back and enjoy the HODINKEE video highlights of 2015. Talking Watches With Matt Jacobson 1 OF 21 Matt Jacobson is the type of guy who doesn't need to live in Silicon Valley with the rest of his world – he is the head of Market Development for Facebook – or in Beverly Hills with t
Omega speedmaster broad arrow advice
Hi everyone I'm looking for some guidance and hoping that you can help. I have always been a rolex man, I started with a datejust and have recently acquired a new GMT IIc which is awesome. I'm really attracted to the history that is associated with these iconic time pieces and like the thought of owning a piece of history and appreciate the precision engineering that goes Into to making these watches. My long term goal is to collect an example of each of the iconic watch styles. I've decided that it's a chronograph that is next on my list of acquisitions. I naturally turned to look at Daytona's but have not really found them very appealing and the lack of a date display has pretty much ruled this out as a choice. I have therefore turned to Omega which also has it's fair share of iconic pieces and been surprising impressed.I really like the speedmaster but particularly the broad arrow variants and wanted some info, thoughts, advice and possible pictures about the watch around, ? though
