Diamonds Are A... Man's Best Friend?
It is no secret that precious jewels have always featured in men's high-end, luxury watches. Yet it seems that these days more and more of these jewels are finding their way onto dials, bezels and bands, as opposed to only being incorporated in the complicated movements that power these incredible timepieces. One brand that has recently taken this new trend to the next level is Concord, with their new C1 Chronograph. The watch features a 44mm white gold case, standing 16.70mm tall and is set with enough diamonds (184 to be exact, or a cool 2.4 carats) to ensure that anyone who tries to look directly at the dial risks potential permanent blindness. However, the enhancement of the original C1 does not stop there, not by a long shot! A protective ring in white gold, fixed laterally by 7 self-blocking screws is enhanced by eight decorative elements straddling the bezel. These bastions protect a spectacular 3.30 mm thick sapphire crystal, which literally emerges from the case and displays a
Which Aqua Terra is the better buy?
I'm looking to purchase a 41.5mm Aqua Terra with blue dial in the near future. There currently are 2 versions that are available. #1:.omegawatches/collecti...23110422103001This is the outgoing model with the brushed bracelet and the framed date window. #2:.omegawatches/collecti...23110422103003This is the new version with the updated movement and higher MSRP of $6000 vs $5500 of the older model. The new version does not have the framed date window and the new bracelet has polished center links. Personally I much prefer the older version, but thinking about resale maybe it is smarter to get the new one with the updated anti-magnetic movement? What do you guys think?
Critical dissection of some Patek Basel 2017 Releases
I thought I'd share my views. Please take with a grain of salt and please chime in one way or another. 1.5131P – The highly anticipated worldtimer to complete the foursome of the collectible enamel worldtimers. I like the idea of the map layout, but will all the white/snow on the dial affect the contrast with the hands making it less legible? I think I prefer the R and the J that have a certain warmth. And why did Patek have to go with a bracelet? I saw online that this will now weigh close to half a pound! Totally unnecessary…. 5131_1P_001.png2.5960G – While the watch looks more appealing than the silver dialed steel counterpart, this is a very strange move that may hurt the value of the 5960P with blue dial which was rarer than the grey dialed 5960P. Patek probably could care less, but a nod to your loyal collector base would be nice by not reissuing essentially the same dial in a white gold case. Now that we are on topic, a few big collectors are quite upset that
How does your AD deal with issues?
So I purchased a second watch recently from an AD, and it wasn't to my expectations (crown appeared not to always engage position 2 or 3, date seemed to change at 2am intermittently). If you purchased a new watch and it had issues from new, would you expect your AD to replace or refund, or offer a repair in the first couple of days of ownership?1. Would you expect a replacement if available2. Would you expect a refund3. Would you be happy with a repair
