Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends 9 May, 2014
In the month of May, we pay a visit to Chopard's workshops and also check out their new L.U.C Tourbillon Qualite Fleurier Watch, which uses Fairmined gold. Speaking of new watches, we also check out Patek Philippe's awesome new Reference 5990/1A Nautilus watch; Seiko's fast-beating Hi-Beat 36,000 GMT watch; and the most affordable Legacy Machine from MB&F yet. That's not all, we also examine the history of dive watch; analyze the second-hand watch mark; and attempt to engrave the caseback of Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso.1. The History Of Dive WatchesThe dive watch as we know it is one of the most popular types of watches today. Rolex's Submariner, Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms, Panerai's Radiomir and Seiko's Monster are all examples of popular watches that are also bona fide dive watches. Can't decide. Help!
I've been thinking of getting an AP ROO Rubberclad Rose Gold for at least a couple of years. But Everytime when I'm about to strike, I ended up being drawn into a PP Nautilus and Aquanaut. I still like that RG and black rubber combination a lot. But I'm always worried about the Rubberclad will worn off and look really crappy. I like my watches in top-notch condition, minimal scratches and zero dings. What do you guys think bout the rubberclad bezel? Do you guys have any bad experiences with maintaining that watch? AP Stainless Steel Royal Oak Selfwinding dial variations; Blue, black, white or grey?
All,Following the release of a new dial variant for the stainless steel AP Royal Oak Selfwinding 15400ST and the positive uptake of a similar thread related to the AP Royal Oak Chronograph 26331ST, it would be interesting to understand the relative popularity of the stainless steel AP Royal Oak Selfwinding 15400ST dial variations at this stage and I have set up a poll to collect this information and welcome any additional comments!Blue dialBlack dialSilvered white dialRuthenium grey dial
Patek Philippe at Tiffany & Co.
I visited the opening of the Patek Philippe Salon and Museum show at Tiffany & Co. in New York yesterday. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the NY area as the museum is only there through Saturday, it will also be show in Beverly Hills in May. Many beautiful and historic pieces as well as the new Patek Philippe watches announced at Basel 2008 were all there..pbase/treacle/pp_tiffany
Discounts at rolex boutique
Hi guys, I know that the rolex boutiques in london are a collaboration between the dealer and rolex and i'm curious as if you can negotiate discounts at the boutiques like you do in a authorized dealer store? Also is it too much if i expect the discount for full gold pieces like the daydate and president lady datejust to be 20%? thanks in advance.
