DSOTM as a daily wearer...tough? Durable?
Considering this watch as a daily wearer, but can it handle the stress? I have been reading ceramic case horror stories and I am now reconsidering my position. Chime in with your experiences as to the toughness or daily durability of this watch. Thanks a ton as always guys. Love this forum! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Omega Planet Ocean 9300 Chronograph POC on a Hirsch Viscount Strap with Hirsch Pusher
After some deliberation on whether to opt for a Genuine Omega strap buckle combo or an aftermarket one, I opted for the Hirsch Viscount Alligator Real Leather with 100m water resistance Strap combined with a Hirsch Pusher Buckle. What an elegant combination that is. For such an expensive aftermarket strap, the buckle was a must i.e. it was necessary to get a deployment one as it saves the ole strap from some stretching taking it off and putting back on the watch (could have been an Omega one at 5 times the price and may consider one in the future). I am truly happy with the result. Your input (positive or negative) shall be appreciated.
New Look For PO
Hi guys Got myself a new strap for my 42mm PO.I know how you all like pictures so I thought I'd share...Ordered this direct from Austria...IMG_1559.JPGHirsh Jumper Black Croc with orange stitch. Came with a tool & new spring bars.IMG_1560.JPGI fancied a new look without spending a small fortune. I sent the PO for a service and it came back all lovely & polished but after a couple of months the clasp's starting to show signs of wear, IMG_1562.JPGThis is my first attempt to change straps. The tool was the wrong size but I managed to get the bracelet off with a bit of fiddling.IMG_1563.JPGGetting the new strap on was pretty easy, although I did put it on the wrong way round at first & had to swap it back round again!!IMG_1564.JPGWorn it for the rest of the day and could hardly take my eyes off it, Almost like having a whole new watch..I love the orange stitching, it's nearly an exact match to the bezel in the right lightAnyway sorry for the long post, hope you enjoy the pics.
Seamaster calender
Heres a nice near mint piece i won off ebay tonight, a 1950's second generation semaster calender, with its original ss bracelet which is rare and its orginal box.. even rarer!! (sellers pics) i really like the thick lugged semasters of the 1950's and can be still had for a bargain... $450 for this one!!!will go well with may first generation semaster calender with date at 6pm.. i actually prefer this date configuration and pity more manufacturers dont make them like this..
Short vid for those w/ Everose Gold watches....
Recently picked up a RG Daytona w/ choco dial and was curious about the history and mfg. of the alloy. Came across this short vid. My gosh, can Rolex make a powerful ad or what? https://.youtube/watch?v=KKgUzfwJplg
