Vacheron Constantin SIHH 2010 Preview: Thin is In
Vacheron Constantin is known for producing some of the world’s thinnest timepieces, and for 2010 they are introducing two new wristwatches in the Historiques collection that confirm the brand’s expertise in the arena of the ultra-thin. The Historique Ultra-fine 1955 measures only 4.1mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest mechanical hand-wound watch. The Historique Ultra-fine 1968 is a square, ultra-thin automatic. The 36mm 1955 is presented in 4N 18k pink gold. Though an homage to the past, the 1955 is a modern design with 30 meter water resistance, a sapphire display back, and a titanium casing circle to improve the rigidity of this wisp for the wrist. Beneath the opaline silver-colored gold dial lies caliber 1003, which at a mere 1.64mm is the world’s thinnest. To celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2010, the movement has been reborn with 18k gold mainplate and bridges. The 21.1mm-diameter movement consists of 117 parts and beats at 18,000 vph. My award-winning ROC posting with the prize!
I damaged my 145022 within hours of purchase..
Caught the speedy bug and decided to have one. Lucky enough to find 1 in our local watch forum, but my silly carelessness ruined the watch. Water vapour starts forming within minutes of washing the bracelet. To remedy, i used a hair dryer from a distance and what happened next, the plexi glass fell off.How silly am i?And out of the sudden, the second hand started to fly, it moves so fast, faster then Carl running 100m. OMG
Would you all sell the GO PanomaticLunar to fund a 5711?
I've been really eyeing adding a Pp to my collection. Currently have:AP15400 white faceRolex SubCOmega Blue SeamasterGO PanomaticLunarGrand Seiko SnowflakeGrand Seiko SBGA105 spring drive Grand Seiko SBGV005 HAQGrand Seiko SBGJ005 hi beat GMTThinking of thinning the Grand Seikos down to 2 (Snowflake and Quartz) and then looking to add a Nauitulus or possibly ROO titanium. Thoughts?
Sd 116600
I am the very happy owner of the SeaDweller 116600 and am now looking for my second Rolex-I love these watches! I'm interested in your opinions on what you all think about my choices in adding to the collection. I have some great choices that I want, but your perspective and experience is appreciated. My choices are all over the place: DateJust 36 w black dial, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet; Milgauss black dial, green crystal, Explorer I newer version, or Airking 40mm. All are new and unworn. What do you think is the best pairing for the SeaDweller? Sorry for the mundane what should I get question, but they all sing to me and it's a LOT of territory to cover there!
