Hands-On: With The Zenith Captain Power Reserve (Live Pics & Pricing)
A few months ago at Baselworld 2014, Zenith unveiled a new update to the Captain Power Reserve. It's an elegant package with a clean display that comes in a few outstanding colorways, and it is one of the more affordable watch in Zenith's arsenal. Inside if one of Zenith's in-house Elite calibers and the looks make it a flexible daily-wear option. At first glance, this watch has a lot going for it. The slim case is 40mm across and admirably thin at 9.25mm. The thin bezel gives way to a domed sapphire crystal that gives you an extremely clear view of the dial. It's a little reflective, which can be frustrating in bright light, but overall it's very clean looking. 2 OF 6 Around the edge of the dial is a chapter ring with small Roman numerals and inside that are large faceted batons to mark the hours. Mis-Aligned Markers
I just purchased this 2508 and after getting home with the watch I noticed the markers aren't perfectly lined up with their corresponding dots. They're slightly offset to the left. I notice it most at the 11 o'clock markerI've been looking at a bunch of other 570's and 2508's and it looks like this isn't extremely uncommon. Is this mis-alignment evidence of a dial restoration? Are there original dials that left the Patek factory like this? I bought this piece from a very reputable vintage Patek dealer who believes the dial to be original but would really appreciate some other opinions. Thanks in advance! https://imgur/a/HbFuk
Buying a 114060 for the 97200
Has anyone else bought a sub for it's bracelet? With my current lineup I don't think I would wear it too often but switch the bracelet onto the BLNR which at present gets no wrist time due to the bracelet being or too big or too small (glidelock has spoiled me), added bonus would be no PCL's.Have tried just sourcing a 97200 but that seems to be impossible. Sub on a nato strap might also get more wrist time come summer, only upside as I see it.
