Hublot King Power Ayrton Senna
November 3, 2014, would have been Ayrton Senna’s 54th birthday. On that date in 2010, on the occasion of the Interlagos Grand Prix in Brazil, Senna’s sister Viviane, along with the Instituto Ayrton Senna and Hublot, united the Formula 1 family along with Senna’s friends and loved ones to commemorate his 50th birthday, which featured the premiere of the award-winning documentary film Senna as well as the debut of this timepiece, created by Hublot in support of Instituto Ayrton Senna. The Hublot King Power Ayrton Senna is a split-second chronograph with power reserve indicator limited to 500 numbered pieces, stamped with Ayrton Senna’s signature. It is made entirely from materials used in Formula 1. In a first for Hublot, the case is made from carbon fiber, a material widely used in Formula 1. The bezel is ceramic with a circular-grained satin finish adorned with multiple holes to represent an F1 brake disk which is also made from ceramic. The strap is Nomex, a sy
Angular Momentum La Boulle Classic Damascus Watch
Here is another artful creation from Angular Momentum that has caught my eye. Using beautiful Damascus steel, the La Boulle Classic Damascus watch combines the unique type of metal work with Angular Momentum's common disc display dial and case. The dial is purely minimalistic. A black sapphire crystal has a window opening to a white color disc. There is a line applied to the window so that you can read the time. The disc moves once around the dial each 12 hours. It may not be the most precise way of reading the time, but it does give way to a world of possibilities when it comes to what to do with the rest of the dial. Sometimes, Angular Momentum dresses the dial up with verre ??glomis painting on the back of the sapphire crystal. Sometimes, you simply have a watch design where the case and dial together make for an artistic statement. The latter design concept helps to frame the La Boulle Classic Damascus watch. What does that mean, exactly? An art watch versus a standard watch> Or
Got me a 15400 Blue!!
Got this BNIB a few days ago from David (thanks again buddy). There's so much to love about this model! The new case size, seconds hand, dark date wheel, and clasp to name a few.Of course you've gotta love the 3120 movement. I'm a sucker for APs blue dials, so I had no hesitation with color options.I use my 15202 as more of a dressy watch and wanted something to share daily wrist time with my LVC.Here goes..................
PO 8500 options
I'm very close to buying a Planet Ocean to compliment my Sea-Dweller and my late-60s vintage DeVille. Overall, I prefer the 2500 version with the aluminum bezel, but I don't want to turn my back on the new movement. My question is this: can I buy the orange 8500 in 42mm and then install one of the older 2500 black bezels? Will it fit?
Man I miss this one...and that one...
I will have a Moon again soon. The other one I sold because I thought 39mm was too small. It might have been smaller but not too small and I should have kept it. You can't even believe how pristine it was.Oddly enough it was the 42mm of the moon that made me think it was a tad too small. Any you miss???Sorry just needed a shoulder to cry on...
