Breitling Superocean Chronograph Steelfish Watch New For 2014
The Breitling Superoean Chronograph Steelfish is a new member of the brand's dive-style watch family for 2014. While I've not spent a lot of time thinking about or researching watches from Breitling, they have?a pretty firm association to aviation in my mind. A closer look at their logo (and their latest release) reveals that they're not just content to ride the air currentsCthey also want to accompany your trips below the waves. Perhaps a better way to think of the brand belies my engineering training: BreitlingCfor all your trips ruled by fluid dynamics. However you think of the brand, there's no denying that the Breitling Superocean Chronograph Steelfish is intended to be a diving watch, as the ratcheting bezel quickly informs us. Surprisingly, rather than paint or even a ceramic fill for the numbers on the bezel, Breitling has instead embedded rubber into the numbers. It's an interesting touch, and very dive-themed; time will tell as to how well that holds up. The other major indica
Jaeger-LeCoultre Sets Up Dedicated Site For Hybris Mechanica Grande Sonnerie Watch, To Make Case For $2.5 Million Purchase
First of all, I am a big fan of the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Hybris Mechanica Grande Sonnerie watch and the accompanying set. I discussed it at length here when going over the announcement of the Hybris Mechanica. Once again, it is the current most complex watch in the world, comes in a limited edition of just 30 sets, and will cost over $2.5 million. Recently Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled the watch itself and the uber display box (the safe), they have also opened a dedicated website to showcase just what the Hybris Mechanica set is all about, focusing of course on the Grande Sonnerie. You can check out the site here. The site is very nice looking and gives you lots of nice little details about the watch that you'd otherwise miss by just looking at it. However, the site is not easy to navigate - another victim of form over function. Just look out for the easy to miss "X" button on the upper right hand corner when you want to go back to the previous page (welcome to a Flash-based nightmare)
Problem with 40th Anniv Jumbo
Spotted a high number of spots on the dial which I believed is due to the poor coating process. i.e. the underlying brass is slowly showing on an otherwise blue dial. Those with the new jumbo might wanna take a closer look at yours and see if the blue coating is evenly applied.Kinda disappointed given i have bought the watch for less than 2 monthsOff to the service centre it will go today Hope it does not come back with dings and scratches....
Mesh Bracelet for PO
After seeing pics of the PO with a special mesh bracelet, where can I get one? How much? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Scott
5980 owners?
Any 5980 owners out there care to share the pros and cons of this watch? Is this a PP you can wear everyday?I was thinking about the 5980 and a few different g-shocks for rugged activities. Any thoughts on this watch or wearability?Perhaps the aquanaut a better choice? Or the 5711 white dial?
