Nautica NMX 1000 Solar Quartz Dive Watch
Summer may be over for all intents and purposes, but Nautica is looking to extend that season a little bit for you with their latest watch, the cryptically named NMX 1000. ?Name aside, this is a watch that will get attention, and looks to be a snap to read (not to mention measuring something via the bezel). When I first laid eyes on the images of this piece, I couldn't decide if someone shrunk the dial, or made a massive bezel. Given that the case is 48mm, I'm going to go with the massive bezel. Frankly, the smaller dial wouldn't even make sense, even if you ignore the style-related reasons. Why?Well, that's because the NMX 1000 is actually a solar powered watch (think Citizen Eco-Drive style, though we aren't sure where Nautica sourced its movements), with the solar cells tucked away under the aforementioned dial. I will say, if you've not owned a watch that can charge via sunlight, it's an interesting proposition (we do own some, and enjoy them). You never have to worry about the batt
Learning to dive...
Hi guys, my first thread in the AP forum! I'm a long time AP fan who lusted after a white faced ROO chronograph back in 2005, and when I looked again they had jumped up in price too far for my taste. Given the list price is now 18k I wiped the thought of AP from my mind... until I wandered into this forum one fateful day and found the Diver Appreciation Thread! Wow! An amazing looking watch which didn't just sing to me it ORCHESTRATED!!! So I started reading and learning more about the watch and the amazing 3120 movement and suddenly I realise, I'm in love! This is bad news given that I just bought 2 watches already this year and told the wife I was now done! Needless to say the hearts and minds work has begun. In the interim I thought I better go and try it on in the metal. All I can say is wowed! My son was smitten too, and said I need the FC too! Anyway, enough words, enjoy some pics of my fact finding mission, and if I'm lucky I'll be the ecstatic author of an Incoming thread soon
Omega Seamaster AT 8500 PGA
Recently replaced my Rolex 39mm Explorer 1, reference 214270, with an Omega 41.5mm Seamaster Aqua Terra 8500 PGA GOLF edition. This watch is a perfect fit and one of the most comfortable watches I own for everyday wear. The current Omega magazine has some great articles about this watch and wearing it while playing golf.

New guy with a service question
New guy here. I've been reading the forum for a little while and slowly coming up to speed on a few things not the least of which is the jargon! I think I've figured out some, the others will come in time.Anyway, I bought myself a Submariner in 1988 and save for a few exceptions, it hasn't been off my wrist for more than a couple of days since purchasing.Last service was 1999, and the receipt shows a cost from the Rolex Service Center of $350. I wish that were still the case. I'm working toward sending it off again as it is losing some time and I assume that the lubricants could stand a refreshing. My questions if anyone cares to answer...The bezel on the watch is scratched in the vicinity of the pearl resulting in the top area of the triangle surrounding the pearl has lost it's silver paint. I'm considering replacing the bezel and wonder if anyone might know the cost involved and additionally if the newer ceramic bezel I've been reading about is an option for the replacement on an olde
