Sarpaneva Korona Moonshine Watch
Helsinki, Finland. Not the typical place for watch makers, but it is where the wild Stepan Sarpaneva calls home and creates his vividly interesting timepieces creations. Playing with his popular moon face, Stepan creates a new watch that utterly features the now popularized serious looking artful lunar gaze. Called the Korona Moonshine, the watch tells the time via a single rotating disc that moves around the periphery of the dial. You read the time in the lower region of the dial where a window opens up to reveal the moving disc. Right at the 6 o'clock position is a small arrow that is used in conjunction with indicators on the disc to tell the time. It isn't the most precise way to tell the time, but the trade-off might be worth it to have this "face" on your wrist. The time telling disc itself is covered in lume for night viewing. I think this is where the "shine" in moonshine comes in. It can be interpreted that the moon above the little window metaphorically provides the shine. Well
Orient Star Classic Review
If you follow worn&wound on a regular basis, you'll know that Orient is one of our favorite brands. They are among a small handful of companies that specialize in very affordable mechanical watches that, despite their low prices, are attractive and well made. And they standout from that small group of brands by also offering complications, such as dual time and power reserve, making them all the more unique. We've reviewed several of their watches before, but this is the first time we'll be taking a look at an Orient Star, one of their sub-brands of higher priced watches, and the only available in the US.Now don't worry, higher-priced for Orient is still well below average in the watch market. What distinguishes them is a higher level of finish and in some cases more complex movements. Yet, even for a watch with multiple retrograde dials, you are unlikely to pay over $1,000. In fact, today's watch, the Orient Star Classic, retails for $690, which after the obligatory 30% discount i
Breitling chronomat B 13050 - real?
I am interested in this Chronomat with Chronograph B 13050. I really like the dial and I think the band is sharkskin. I'm thying to get more photos for the seller but wanted the experts to see it they notice anything strange about the sell.cgi.ebay/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:ITThanks.
PO Bezel Swap in NYC? Orange to Black
Hey guys. Im about to make my first Omega purchase - something ive been building up towards for the better part of 3 years (always thought id only be a Rolex guy, but here we are..!)I will need to make a bezel swap from Orange to Black - My planned set up is black face with orange numbers and black bezel at 42mm (basically a 2201.51), however, these don't pop up every day for a good price. I found a stella deal on an 2909 (orange bezel) so am planning on simply swapping the bezel to make my (new) dream watch. My questionIs there anyone in NYC (tried Omega already - not willing to wait 3 weeks) that i can buy/trade a black OME-082SU1702 black bezel from. Has anyone had experience doing this in NYC? Diamond District my best shot?ORShould I just go and buy one from Ofrei and knock this out myself? I have some mild experience swapping bezels. I have no desire for an orange bezel ever so would most probably immediately sell the old one.Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks and looking forward to joi
Vintage Speedy leather strap
I thought I'd post this picture as I'd never seen the strap option for a 321 Speedy. It's a perforated, racing strap. Very different from the alligator strap currently on offer from Omega. I wonder where I can get a replica of these?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1339511663.016785.jpg
