SIHH Preview: Piaget Unveils its First Minute Repeater
Piaget has announced the launch of its first minute repeater timepiece, set to debut at next month’s SIHH watch fair in Geneva. In the brand’s tradition of historically thin watches and mechanical movements, the new watch sets another record for slenderness in its category: only 4.8 mm thick for the caliber and only 9.4 mm for the case. The Emperador Coussin Automatic Minute Repeater was crafted entirely in-house, with the movement, Caliber 1290P,?developed, produced, decorated and assembled at the Piaget manufacture La C?te-aux-Fes and the case made at the brand’s facility in Plan-les-Ouates. This minute repeater movement represents the fourth major complication developed by Piaget, which over the past 14 years has created 35 in-house movements, including 11 comprising major complications. Some of these include notable calibers like the 600P (the world's thinnest hand-wound shaped tourbillon), 880P (ultra-thin automatic chronograph), 855P (ultra-thin automatic perpet
Arnold & Son Royal TEC1 Tourbillon Chronograph Watch
Just when we were beginning to think that the tourbillon was as played-out as a top 40 hit, Arnold & Son pulls us back in. After the success of last year's Baselworld release of the UTTE, Arnold and Son had set a high bar for this year's new model. With the recent announcement of the TEC1 Tourbillon Chronograph, I think we can consider that bar blown away. Part of their Royal collection, the TEC1 features a brand new in-house movement that combines a tourbillon, column wheel chronograph and automatic winding. With a beautiful and uncommon dial layout, the TEC1 offers huge amounts of complexity while maintaining the clean and elegant lines seen in Arnold & Son's HMS1 line.Any in-house automatic chronograph movement is noteworthy, but the Arnold & Son A&S8305 is something special. Running at 28,800 vph and supporting a power reserve of 55 hours, this manufacture movement supports a high frequency tourbillon at twelve o'clock along with a column wheel chronograph complicat
Question for Diver owners
A basic one here but I just got my Diver yesterday so I don't know :)How thight should the crown (both) be to avoid water damage? I don't want to mess up the rubber on the crown by over doing it but at the same time I want to avoid water damage, does it has Rolex type mechanism ( sub and others ) that water won't get in even unscrued? The truth is I don't plan using it for diving but I want to make sure if I use it in the pool or other lite water activities I am ok.ThanksSimon
I lost my Omega Watch Pillow/Cushion
for my Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph. Anyone know where i can purchase a new one?TIA
Finally a duo
I know that 2 years between purchases is a like decade on TRF. These past two years have given the opportunity to really enjoy my GMT IIc. I have come to appreciate how versatile it is. I was really happy with my one watch but I have been meaning to get another watch. I have put a lot of mileage on my GMT. It made a lot of sense to go with the sub for me. It was pretty much a toss up between the sub and GMT when I was deciding to get my first watch. For the second watch, I was going back and forth between the LV and the LB. After trying them both on, I realize that I am not ready for gold just yet. Of course just my luck the LV is a hot item but the AD came through within a month. So here finally, I have a duo! There is room for another watch but it will take probably take another 2 years. I just need the Daytona to complete my trio - land, air, and sea. 3 is the magic number since I have 3 kids. 4 would be the magic number if I had 2 kids!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
