Hands-On: The Cl De Cartier In Rose Gold And Steel
Last January at the 2015 edition of the SIHH, Cartier launched a major new family of wristwatches called the Clé De Cartier – named for the key-like, oblong winding and setting crown set into the flank of the case. We went hands on with the original launch models and we were very impressed by not only the visual, but also the tactile aspects of the design – the watch felt great in the hand and on the wrist, and the crown was just different enough to give a tingle of pleasure, but not so unusual as to become an obstacle to convenience. The Clé De Cartier family was also the launch platform for a new movement: the Cartier caliber 1847, which is the newest in-house general purpose Cartier movement, as well as its least expensive. The finish is not as elaborate as on, say, the 1904 MC (found in the Calibre de Cartier) but it comes in at a lower price as well, which puts the Clé De Cartier in a generally more affordable price bracket – the model we&rsq

Patek Customer Service Rules
Guys, after being distressed about my new Aquanaut steel bracelet fit issue, I reached out to both the US Distributor Customer Service Dept, and spoke with Yuko who runs customer service. She was fantastic in confirming the part I need and agreeing to overnight it to my AD.Conversely, my AD, Lux Bond & Green in Boston, was similarly fantastic by agreeing to pick up the $225 cost of the link & half and help me out on a different unrelated Rolex issue. I am seriously blown away by the attentive service I received and the level of satisfaction I feel. It is a very good reminder that there are some fabulous ADs out there worth building relationships with.Lastly, I was also very pleased with my deal, which exceeded my expectations enough to bring me into the Patek club. Next up...a nice 5711.One last note, I had also spoken with the Patek specialist at Tourneau (normally not a TRF favorite) and he was equally accommodative on pricing and silliness to overnight a watch in for me
Has Rolex Become the New Gold Rush?
From what I'm seeing these days with depleted stock and soaring demand it seems obtaining a Rolex hot model is like an arbitrage score if you will. I've read many threads about in comings and getting the call of what they've been waiting for but as of late it seems to be turning or maybe it's just me. We all love watches hence why we're here. I've been able to source the usual suspects is terms of hot models building a relationship with the AD and an occasional trusted TRF seller but now it's like get it then flip for a quick buck. Believe it or not I've turned down a ceramic Daytona and just yesterday a SS Skydweller with a blue dial. My AD said they just got it and if I'm interested I can buy it then and there. As temped as it would be to buy it then call DavidSW I just find it a bit shady. I'm hoping over time Rolex can meet demand and maintain the prestige of the brand. This peeling stickers and holding warranty cards is just nonsense and only adds fuel to the fire me thinks. This
BLNR, Hulk and Sub C for DD2?
HiI have never owned a gold Rolex and it's was always something i said I'd do one day... Promised one to myself for my 40th birthday (3 years away) but I'm thinking about doing it a bit earlierI'd need to trade a few of the ones I already own if I wanted to do it thoughI'd be trading the three listed in the title for a RG DD2 with black concentric or wave dialThis would leave me with Daytona C, AP Royal Oak Chrono, Pepsi GMT and Sub KermitWhat are your thoughts?
