New Richard Lange Zero Restart “Referenzuhr”
Lange’s Richard Lange family of timepieces is dedicated to the scientific aspects of horology with a focus on precise timekeeping. With resettable subsidiary seconds, the Richard Lange Referenzuhr carries on a tradition dating to the early 19th century. Actuating the push piece at 2 o’clock instantly resets the seconds hand to zero, where it remains so long as the push piece is depressed, while the movement keeps running. This sleight of hand (pun intended) is achieved via a vertical clutch that reengages when the push piece is released, restarting the seconds hand instantly. This complication facilitates synchronising watches and clocks at different locations: the actuation of the push piece synchronises the seconds hand of the instrument with that of a reference clock exactly when its hand passes the 60-seconds mark ( zero ). This action stores the time of the reference clock and allows it to be transferred to other timekeeping instruments. In 19th century Dresden, th

Montres Breguet, and the Legion of Honor (one of the San Francisco Museums of Art) have partnered to create the exhibition, “Breguet: Art And Innovation in Watchmaking,” which presents over 80 watches, clocks, and instruments spanning a wide period in early Breguet production, including the most productive years of Breguet himself, as well as those of his son, Antoine-Louis. 1 OF 34 The exhibition was years in the making and planning, and is co-curated by Martin Chapman, the curator in charge of decorative European arts and sculpture for the Legion of Honor, and Emmanuel Breguet, curator of the Breguet Museum co-located with the Breguet boutique on the Place Vendôme in Paris (which we took you inside here). Works in the exhibition have been drawn from a number of sources, including the holdings of

With the ingenious ring command bezel developed by rolex with the ym 2 and skydweller...from an engineering and production stand point how hard would it be to alter the movement to go from 28 to 1 when transferring from feb to March... instead of just recognizing months that change from 30 or 31 days?
