Swatch Automatic Chrono Watch Giveaway Winner Is Happy
Last month you were able to enter for a chance to win a free Swatch Automatic Chrono watch from aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer. The winner has received the Swatch watch and has been enjoying it, and has sent me a few shots of the watch as a follow up. Congrats to Andrew D. winning the new Swatch watch and I am glad that he enjoyed it. The timepiece is really making a bit splash with a well priced automatic chronograph Swiss movement and fun styling. Don't forget to enter for this month's aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer Giveaway for a chance to get a free US made Orbita watch winder. Here are some words about the watch direct from the winner:"As soon as I found some free time I quickly opened the box to experience my first ever Swatch. The first thing that struck me was the packaging. Truly Swatch! In keeping with their famous Jelly watches it appears as though they have Jelly Boxes too. Upon seeing the new Chrono my first thought was "boy it's big" I have a small wrist and until now my largest
Speedmaster question from a newbie
Hi guys,I visted an Omega AD for the first time yesterday & I really loved the Speedmaster range. I was looking at the Moonwatch with the display caseback when the assistant told me that for less money I could have a replica (her words not mine) of the Moonwatch that did not have the display caseback. Instead of the clear caseback the replica has an engraved caseback. Can anyone explain what she meant by this? Which model would be the replica Moonwatch?
ETA PR not consistent
My PAM Base ETA 6497 has been losing time on the Power Reserve. Let me explain myself. When I first purchased it I would get around 66 hours on a full wind. By full wind, I mean turning the crown until a point where it no longer winds and without forcing any further.I've been doing this test once again for a few times and would get different results each time. 1st try: 66 hours2nd try: ~63.5 hours3rd try: ~61.7 hoursI cannot find an answer as to why I would be getting back different PR even with a full wind.I know that these are way over the stated 48 hours, but I am just curious as to know why these figures would not be consistent. Thanks
NEW MODELS - The thinnest Panerais ever - Due Collection
Beautiful new 42mm and 45mm models in steel (676 - 42mm / 674 - 45mm) and gold (677 - 42mm / 675 - 45mm). The 42mm models are 10.5mm thick, while the 45mm models are 10.7mm thick. The steel models have a black sunburst dial and the gold models have a anthracite grey sunburst dial. Gold models also have a skeletonized movement. The only setback, imo, is 30m wr for either size.More here:
Another My Dads Rolex and Japan RSC inflexibility..
So below is my Dad’s Date that I bought him for his 80th birthday. Had it engraved on the back from me. He passed away three years later and it was passed along back to me.I had it serviced just under 6 years ago at the RSC here in Japan. Quite expensive, complete overhaul and new clasp.Fast forward to today. I finally decided to change the white Arabic dial to blue Arabic. 42,000. Found out the price in a catalogue at an AD. It took me so long to finally decide to change the dial because you know it is my Dad’s watch and I didn’t want the RSC to take the white dial as they often do and not return it. I was assured by my buddy who works at a grey that they won’t take it. So I race down to the RSC today on lunch break with my Dad’s Date.Yes they will replace the white dial for blue and they will return the original white dial. 42,000.So far so good. Then the counter person and then later one of their watch repair people both INSIST that I must have it se
