How nice it would be to have a larger availability of Temption watches. With just two authorized dealers in the entire US, you aren't likely going to see Temption watches very often, which is a shame considering how beautiful these watches are. I have a Temption CGK203 Watch which I reviewed here. The results were stellar, which is expected from the boutique German watch makers who only manufactures 700 watches a year. No wonder they are so hard to get.Temption has an interesting philosophy behind watch design which although resembling Scandinavian minimalism, actually has more to do with German Bauhaus design. The idea is functional art to the extent that the main purpose of the design is function and utility. Having said that, the design must conform with various rules such as attractive symmetry and fluid form. Anyone got any more info about CEO Fran?ois-Henry Bennahmias announcing a completely new line in 2019 and down the road in 2020 AP selling pre-owned along side new inventory. Has the Panerai bubble burst?
In the last few years Panerai has grown from a cult brand to a mainstream one and now produces so many models and variations, even a hardcore collector and enthusiast such as myself cannot even keep up. I love the little details that Panerai has done from year to year and liked how they produced limited numbers of pieces which were all rather unique in their own right (Panerai 127, 232, 249, 36 etc to name a few). These pieces were sought after because of its availability but also its unique look and history.Fast forward to today and many of the guys I know that used to have every Panerai under the sun including all the different variations have started to dump their collection as too many models started looking alike and Panerai didn't seem to stick to their core models, designs and heritage.
