Elliot Brown Canford Review
Brands so often try to sell you a bill of revolutionary innovation or the ultimate this or that, that when a brand comes along with a seemingly modest goal, it's quite refreshing. For Elliot Brown, a new UK based watch brand, "It’s about doing things just a little better". Founded by Ian Elliot and Alex Brown, both veterans of the affordable watch industry, Elliot Brown is not trying to reinvent the wheel, nor are they trying to prove every other watch brand wrong. Their goal is simply to take their cumulative watch industry experience and make functional time pieces that can be worn and enjoyed for "years, not fashion seasons."Elliot Brown’s current line up consists of two watches, the Canford and the the Bloxworth, both available in various colors and finishes. We had the pleasure of spending some time with the Canford, EB's take on a modern pilot watch. With aggressive, but subdued styling and a dual crown design the Canford immediately stands out from the crowd. It's f
J serial Diver runs fast on wrist, is it normal?
Hi all,I'm new to AP and just got my 15710 Diver recently. I've tested it for few days and found that if I let it rest on the table with the crown down position, its accuracy is almost spot on; once I put it on my wrist, it ran fast and gained about 1 second every two hours. My question is, is it normal for the calibre 3120? Does it sound like a re-banking issue? Many thanksLi
Where to find a nice vintage Navitmer
Guys,A Navitimer has been on my wish list for a while now and I foresee one in my future within the next few months. I have spent about 4 months deliberating between the 43mm or Vintage with a flirtation in between with the Sinn 903. Whilst preferring the Breitling I am more inclined to look towards the 41mm size hence Vintage would seem to be a logical choice. All that said Vintage is a new world for me, its a scary world at that and I am keen to avoid the likes of trusted sellers that may not be known to me or worse still the likes of ebay. With this in mind a Bricks and Mortar Vintage dealer would be a preferred choice - any tips on where to start looking?
Speedy on winder
I wondered if anyone knows what the proper setting on a winder is for a speedy. Looking around I found reference to 700-800 clockwise only. Thanks for any ideas.Mike
Is there a consensus on the "grail" Panerai
I don't have a Panerai in my collection.I've seen this discussed before but not sure there was ever a consensus. What's the one and only one to have?? I'd like to add just one and I would want whatever the most desired piece long term would be. There are so many variations and LEs, etc., that it makes my head spin and I end up just not buying one.Thoughts??
