Introducing: The Girard-Perregaux Laureato 2016 (Could This Be The Watch That Puts GP Back On Top?)
If there were a special Academy (or whomever) Award for most underappreciated watch brand, at least in the U.S., I am pretty sure that Girard-Perregaux would be on the list. At least on paper, they tick all the boxes – great in-house movements (that have been found, over the years, in one form or another, in a lot of other brands’ watches) and a fantastic history, as well as some very iconic designs. Part of the problem is that one of their most recognized, and recognizable, watches is very much at the high end: the Three Golden Bridges Tourbillon, and its variations; another part of the problem is that they’ve never really had a breakout, long-lived modern success that’s become ubiquitous in the same way as, say, the Submariner, or the Tudor Black Bay, or the Royal Oak. Planet Ocean- advice
Hi-- I am interested in purchasing a Planet Ocean watch for myself-- 42 mm, black bezel. Also thinking of buying an automatic SS Seamaster for my wife. Can anyone recommend an AD to work with? I have been checking out the Ben Bridge sale, but they do not appear to be willing to go beyond the 20% discount. Thanks in advance.Roger
Trade Up Two For One?
Lately I've subscribed to the one dress watch/one play watch/whatever else matters not theory. I have a Calatrava and an Aquanaut, and whatever else is my Cartier Roadster 40th birthday gift.I've been contemplating adding a Rolex Sub or DJ2. I love Rolex, have none at the moment, and really miss having one. But the reality is, with the Aquanaut on the winder, I can't justify two play watches (just the phase I'm going through). Yes, I know some love the variety and wear them in rotation, but that's not my thing right now.To further complicate matters (my first world problem), the Aquanaut does not have me over the moon like I expected. My feelings range from this is it! to this is it? I'm usually happy with it and think I'll keep it...But then I begin to think...(drum roll)Would It be best to trade the Calatrava and Aquanaut for a complication (annual calendar)?I would then have one dressy Patek AC and add a Rolex (depending on how much I had left over) as a play watch.Of course the oth
Is it a sickness?
As everyone was aware of it was Day light savings time . Am I the only one who changes the time once I get home from work ? And the night before adjust the watches in the safe ? I also do it when the dates change tooSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
