Omega service repair experience
Just wanted to share some of my experience. My wife has a fairly new Aqua Terra with the new 8520 movement. Its very rarely worn. The winding mechanism seemed to fail whereby manual winding would catch on the rotor making it difficult to wind. I guess it shouldn't.Anyway, we gave it to the Omega boutique here in Hong Kong. It went through a local check with the watch master in Hong Kong, and then later it went to headquarters for a full repair. The whole time we did not receive a telephone call to update us of the status until it was ready for pickup. It took a full two months. When we picked up the watch, the sales gave very little input as to what was wrong or what was done to the watch. There was a little report, which I asked to keep but was not allowed to. It showed that the gasket was replaced, but surprisingly much of the comments were written in Chinese - so I wonder if this was the master report from Switzerland. Being COSC certified, it kind of irks me a little knowing

After Baselwolrd seems Deepseas are going up
I just noticed after the release of the new Deepsea at Basal, it seems prices on the previous models are up considerable. Why is this? Is that kind of how it is when they do a change on any model, that die hard fans want the prior one for possible collectability? Thanks
Two-Tone DateJust old mans watch ?
It's a question I'm sure we've heard before but after seeing these new chocolate dial DateJust I've got that burning feeling inside telling me I need one.I've alwsys been a bit put off from two tones as I've heard many times before that it looks like an old mans watch , until last year never liked the DateJust, I now own two steel models but feel now that it's time I got a gold steel version.I have subs , GMTs , YM and a Gold Daytona , I'm 41 years old now so maybe Its time ?
Rolex s/s availability (uk) an unscientific barometer
Over the last 12 months or so I have been fairly regularly watching the supply of brand new ss Rolexes being newly listed on eBay (uk) which I think gives an interesting insight into the supply that in turn has been received by ADs. Now before everyone jumps on this, just to stress it is not a scientific study, just a few informal comments and I'm not suggesting this presents anything new that hasn't been speculated about in previous posts. So he goes:-- the number of accidental' so-called grey dealers has increased as the margins have gone up and scarcity has increased. That's an obvious supply and demand point but a lot of sellers have just looked at the instant profit to be made and decided to sell on, although that wasn't their initial intention when putting their name down. This can be deduced from the seller profile and direct contact.- latterly (q3 & q4 2017) there are more sellers who have most likely been looking to flip from the outset, particularly on the BLNR, where im
