Richard Mille RM 056 All Sapphire Crystal Watch
No doubt it is cool. It is also wildly expensive and a showpiece above all else. This new highly limited edition watch from Richard Mille is the RM 056 and comes in an all sapphire crystal case. It is very visually intriguing and costs a mere $1,650,000. Probably easier to laugh about the price rather than get upset.According to Richard Mille it requires over 1000 hours to produce the case of the watch. The case is identical to that of previous Richard Mille Felipe Massa pieces. The movement is also an updated evolution on that RM 008 caliber. Only the case is in sapphire crystal and the movement layout and architecture have changed a bit. 1000 hours is a long time. I would hate to ask how long it would take for a new case if you need it to be repaired. The full name of the watch is the RM 056 Felipe Massa Sapphire Tourbillon Split Seconds Competition Chronograph. Aside from a house in Bermuda, I am not sure what this watch is competing with. The concept is actually very impressive. Sta
aBlogtoRead.com 2CAN Watch Giveaway Winner
Congratulations to Rok from Slovenia who won last month's aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer watch giveaway. This was the first international reader who got randomly chosen to receive the the giveaway prize. This makes sense as only half of aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer readers are in the US - a truly global readership. Rok opted to win the 2CAN model Sl1536cch Chronotron watch from the selection of 2Can watches that the giveaway sponsor WatchWearwatches-dealer had. You can see more details about the 2CAN watch pictured here.I like the neat looking perforated dial and the moving lugs. Rok thinks that the watch fits well on his wrist and loves the looks. Here are more words straight from him:"The watch looks really great, it's got a modern and quite a unique design. I've been wearing it for a day and already got several compliments. It wears great and the size of the watch fits me perfectly. It also looks like its very solid build, only the strap looks like it won't really last long, hope I'm wrong.
Seamaster Professional - Your Opinions....
I'm thinking of getting a Seamaster Professional - either the 300M Quartz or the 300M Diver. I'm curious to hear peoples' opinions on the automatic vs. the quartz movement question. Preferences, problems etc...
Dial Replaced?
Sorry for the noob question. So with my 16710 coke bezel GMT I just bought, it has all the paperwork from servicing back in 2011. It has all the info of what was done and a service warranty card.Once thing that is odd, is that the hands do not have lume. I am wondering if the lume just died (doubt it) or the hands were replaced at some point with aftermarket hands post 2011 servicing. Also the bracelet has some play with it. Not a big deal as it is so comfortable, but was wondering what they could do possibly. How does one go about getting it looked it or sent in? I like in the NYC area. Should I just bring it to an AD and have them look at it, or is there some place special I need to send it to.Thanks in advance!
Normal AD behaviour?
So I've decided on my next Rolex, a GMT BLNR.I don't want to pay a premium for a pre-owned, so I went into my local AD (in the UK) today with a view to put my name on a list and curl up for a long sleep until I get the call.So anyway, I went in and enquired, making it clear I'm fully aware of the waiting list and the demand, only to be told they are no longer taking names as the list is full!I didn't quite know what to say, until I was very quickly offered a pre owned one for weeeellll over MRSP. I swiftly declined. So, it's left me a bit disappointed really, going from thinking that I will get one eventually, to being told there's no way of me actually ever getting one through an AD, or this one at least. I plan on doing some ringing around tomorrow, I'm not holding my breath though. Any tips?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
