Linde Werdelin Land Instrument II - The Rock
Computer technology, unlike wrist watch technology, has no choice but to be upgraded continuously. So here is the upgraded Land Instrument from Linde Werdelin. What is it you may ask (for those uninitiated)? In a nutshell, it is a sensor-based device that gives you lots of important information using data collected from an internal compass, barometer, altimeter, inclination meter, and separate (but wirelessly connected thermometer). It also has an optional wireless heart rate monitor that straps around your chest. Using all this information in conjunction with the native ability to process it and store it - gives you an instrument, the Land Instrument II to be exact (now called "The Rock"). Along with that, there are basic functions including alarms, stopwatches, the time, and lots of logging capabilities. The Rock now also features that ability to connect with a GPS device. How do you feel about Breitling timepieces?
I have admired Breitlings for years, but have never purchased one. Are they as good as they look? I am rather surprised that more WIS's don't own one or two of them and they seem hard to resale.Any discussion?
Any Thoughts Will Be Appreciated...
I'm in the market for an Omega Triple Date Moonphase watch, solid gold. I found this one on ebay.cgi.ebay/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:ITIts what I want, but the price seems a bit high. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks to all in advance.
Speedmaster Pro Moonphase (56k warning)
New to me anyway. I had been coveting a Moon watch since I sold my sapphire sandwich many lunar phases ago. Instead of getting the regular Pro, I decided to obtain something rarer than the 50th anniversary model, which I also really like. The extra sub-dial might seem too busy for some people, but I adore it. I also prefer the 3/10th hash marks as opposed to the busier and useless 5/10th found on the normal Pro.
5130 Service Advice needed
OK guys, I'm totally depressed with the issue my 5130 world time is having.First, I only wear this piece about 3-4weeks total out of the year and I have had it for about 4 years now. When I first got the piece I had an issue right away where the push button for rotating the timezones on the dial got stuck where the dial and hour hands would not rotate with zero resistance when pushing the button on the case. The piece had to be sent back to Geneva for servicing, and I got it back 8 weeks later with no direct explanation to me since it was sent through the AD.Fast forward 4 years, I was wearing the piece over the weekend, and decided to shift the dial to different timezones. I got through about 5-6 cities, and then all of a sudden I lost some resistance in the pushbutton. The outer dials with the city prints stopped shifting, but the hour hand would still shift by 1 hour with each push. Whne I push the button now there is much less resistance with the hour hands still shifting, but t
