Lasting Impression Of The Sinn 203 Arktis
In a way, actually many ways, German Sinn watches are like military vehicles. They are built to last not only because the customer demands it, but because Sinn puts a large investment into their products and does not want to replace them anytime soon. Take the AMC Huvmee, which was designed in the mid 1980s and is still the most widely used vehicle in the US Army. No consumer car would last that long and still be built. Sure lots of things have changed about the Humvee (Hummer H1), but it retains the same shape and feel. The applies to Sinn watches to a large degree. The Sinn 203 series of watches was designed over 15 years ago, and still have a wonderful lasting quality to it. Perhaps it is because it is a much a machine as it is a watch, a Sinn watch is meant to last both stylistically, and functionally for a long time. The Sinn 203 Arktis was designed as an extreme conditions chronograph. Meaning it retains accuracy well below freezing, and almost at boiling temperatures. The metal

Got a New 722
Just got a 722 with bracelet. Thought i'd post some pics since I haven't seen a lot of info about this model. 42mm and bracelet, very notPanerai . Recently sold 2 Rolexes and a Jaeger so I was looking to maybe purchase 2 new watches. 1 more expensive and 1 for whatever was left. I have had the 320 GMT before and was kind of thinking about Panerai again although it was a tad too big for my wrist. Was looking at the 682 but as it turned out I bought another watch on a rubber strap first so I needed something else. Went to the shop and tried on everything, found the 722 that just got delivered to the store and I am so pleased. 42mm, new bracelet which is very nice and it's a Panerai. First pic is of the 2 watches bought on Friday, 1 Panerai and 1 weird thing on a rubber strap:)Needless to say...Friday was a good day!
Which Panerai to pop the cherry on
I want my next watch to be a Panerai and I have been looking around. It seems like there are so many different Panerai out there. Two features that I've been really attracted to are the california dial or a white dial Panerai.I have a change to buy the PAM051, i like the white dial on it but the fact that its ETA movement seems to deter me away.I'm also attracted to PAM 242 or 249 but the 47mm seems super big on my wrist. I'm just curious, what was everyone's first Panerai? what did they like the most about it?
