Ball and BMW Team Up For New Watch Collection
Ball Watch Company, whose history is rooted in the early days of train travel, has taken its watchmaking talents from the rails to the roads, collaborating with German luxury automaker BMW to introduce a new line of watches, called Ball for BMW. The Ball for BMW collection, whose development has been headed up by noted BMW designer Magali Metrailler, is heavily influenced by the aerodynamic lines and ergonomic details of BMW cars and their engines. The line is composed thus far of the Classic, a three-hand model with date; the GMT, with second time zone; and a Power Reserve model. All the watches have automatic ETA movements that have been certified as chronometers by COSC.The watches feature alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces and screw-down crowns that evoke the detailing on BMW dashboard knobs. UTS Celebrates 10 Years With Special Watches
Since 1998, mechanical engineer Nicolaus Spinner and business partner Stephen Newman have focused on building quality tool watches for professionals. UTS Watches are all exclusive designs, the cases are manufactured in-house, and each watch is assembled near Munich by their designer. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, UTS presents an updated look for their 500M and 1000M Divers. The watches feature new limited edition bezels and deep black Galvanic dials. The 500M is tested to 1,000 meters and 1,000M, with sapphire display back (the only one of its kind), is tested to 1,500 meters. Both models measure 43mm in diameter and 14mm in height and feature Swiss ETA movements.

Wear and Flip question for 5711
So as some of you may have read in my recent thread titled Bit of luck I recently (by some minor miracle) happened upon a brand new, unclaimed 5711 which had arrived at the AD that same morning. I've made the down-payment, and will be paying the remainder in full Friday morning. Before I do, I'd like to get a real, honest sense of what I am getting into in terms of investment. I plan to wear the watch and enjoy it for a very long time to come, of course--but because it's such a chunk-o-cash for me, I'd like to know what you guys think is in store for such a watch in terms of gaining or losing value over time, flip-ablity, etc. I'm used to vintage watches (Rolex in particular), and I know new watches are typically like cars, in that they lose a lot of value after you wear one off the lot. BUT, I also know as a Patek Philippe, and as a SS Nautilus, this watch is anything but typical. Thoughts and comments greatly appreciated!!

2018 Rolex models and grey dealers
So in my travels over the last couple weeks visiting multiple AD's and listening to their understandably sad stories of lack of stock the inevitable discussion came up of how grey dealers seem to have the hot stainless steel modles in stock at higher than retail prices. Needless to say, especially in the boutiques this put a very bad taste in their mouth. Now one of the managers in one of the boutiques told me that in 2018 Rolex was going to put some type of better system to track their watches. I believe he mentioned a strip on the back of the piece. I don't know what that really means. However the point was they'll be trying to find out who has been selling these pieces to the grey dealers and then cut them off. In my opinion, and I shared this with him, I don't see how you can stop that. However he insisted that he has heard from the top people at Rolex and that is their intentions. What do you guys think? I always thought Rolex loved the grey dealers even if in secret because
