Roger Dubuis Kingsqaure Column Wheel Chronograph Watch & Friends
Some of you will like this watch, some of you won't like this watch at all, and still some of you want this watch so badly you can taste it. Welcome to one of the most polarizing types of designs out there, and it is over a year old already. Personally I am very intrigued by the design, probably since I got to check out this and other Kingsquare watches recently. It is a loud and in your face look, but refined nevertheless - like something Versace watches should be. The King Square line of watches from Roger Dubuis is defined by its square faceted case that angles down on the top and bottom. This means that the sapphire crystal is also faceted. The dial design is like "art deco lightning."? Yea, it does make the watch harder to read, but that is just one of its charming quirks. While this article in on the above watch, I figured it would be a good time to show you some images I took of other Kingsquare watch I saw at SIHH last month. Consider these cousin Kingsquare watches. The 30 minu

Speedmaster Reproduction
The person responsible for the following site has documented the reproduction of a pre-moon Speedmaster with the 321 movement:kawai3.hp.infoseek.co.jp/eng-speedmaster.htmlI have skimmed this site several times, and it remains unclear to me how this person acquired the necessary parts and at what cost.Do I correctly understand that genuine parts still exist on the retail market and that a person could build or have built a pre-moon Speedmaster with a 321 movement?A new Speedmaster (meaning, NOT a Speedmaster Professional) has a lot of appeal.I wonder why Omega has not reissued this watch and passed on the added expense of this level of quality to the customer. After all, look what people pay for a Rolex Daytona.I'd much rather have a new Speedmaster with a 321 movement (and a reproduction case back with no first watch on the moon writing).Does a market exist for a real reproduction from Omega (faithful except for the tritium)? And, does the 321 movment really represent a higher level of q
Going to Asia for 5 weeks for work. Daytona ok?
Im going to Tokyo, HK, Beijing, and Shanghai for 5 weeks for work (IT support for a law firm) They are putting us up nice hotels. Is it safe to take the D500? Ive been to Japan and HK before with my Bluesy and it was fine but what about China?
Met the Rolex Rep Today
Walked into my local AD and lo! The mythical Rolex rep was there. Actually, there were two of them, talking to the owner. The owner introduced me and immediately I wished I had shaved this morning. Oh, well. I asked about the shortage in some models and they said that Rolex decisions about supply are taken two years before so if there is an unforeseen increase in interest in particular models, there isn't much they can do about it immediately. Production ramp ups take more than a year after the decision is made and the decision isn't made quickly. I told them I owned an Explorer 1, brand new two weeks ago and said I bought it because it was a low-key watch that fit my personality. I said I was looking at the OP line and liked the 36mm and the 39mm sizes and colors except for the green pips on the blue dial for the 39mm. Just a little too funky for me but I try to fly under the radar generally. Nice guys with British accents (I guess people in Europe learn British English, from what I'm
