SalonQP 2012 London Watch Show November 8-10
Quick note and reminder that UK-based watch lovers might want to head over to the SalonQP watch show for 2012 in London. I'd go save for the fact that I won't be in Europe at the time and they aren't quite set up yet to invite media properly. That is OK as they are still a new event (but already impressive). SalonQP is set up by the UK-based watch magazine QP, which I enjoy when I can get my hands on it.SalonQP 2012 will once again be held at the Saatchi Gallery in London this year from November 8 - 10. A lot of good brands go as well as good number UK-based brands. You can get tickets via their site here. They also have a large sponsored section on The Telegraph UK site with news of the show. By the way, if one of you going wants to cover it for us (pictures and some posts) let us know.
I did the inevitable, burned a hole in my pocket again...
I did it again... Wasn't really interested in this piece at first due to the heft, but after seeing it on the wrist of a certain AP CEO here in HK and him taking it off for me to try again, I did the inevitable....Every time, I tell myself to stop buying, it just doesn't happen...I must say though, it's growing on me every second... The tantalum and rose gold is a great match this way. Not over blingy!
To quote Yogi Berra, it's dj vu all over again!
Some of you may remember my modded 2254.50 from years ago with the non-America's Cup dial:Well after attempting to love 2500 and 8500 Planet Oceans, I am back to my first love:This one also has the cal 2500 second hand.I had forgotten how comfortable and beautiful the classic SMP was on my wrist.
Advice Needed - Best Patek Dress Watch that Wears Casually
Hey Everyone,I am finally feeling the pull of a Patek dress watch.Seeing the 5270 (white dial) and 5131r in person has cast a spell on me.But are those too dressy for more casual attire?Since dress watches are not something I have a lot of experience with,I am coming here to seek sage advice.Question: Which Patek Dress watch references, metals, dial colors etc. are the easiest to wear with casual attire as well as more dressed up.I am not looking for any Nautilus (including 5980, 5990, etc) or Aquanaut references, but more the classic (and modern) Patek dress watch references.Main criteria 1) Definitely under $120-130K (but more realistically $50-100K range)2) Must dress down to even jeans, shorts, sandals, nice shirts, and sharp graphic tees even. Is that possible to pull off in a fashionable way?3) Ideally a watch that will not tank on the secondary market. My preference would be platinum, but white gold may be necessary for monetary reasons.Actually I am open to suggestions on which
Bronzo - so who's getting one?
Deposit paidIt's been years since I bought a panerai and I am looking forward to delivery. My only concern is maintenance given the bronze case.I am interested to hear everyone's thoughts and real life experiences
