Raymond Weil Forms U.S.A. Distribution Company
Raymond Weil Genve has announced the establishment of its own distribution company in the United States, RW USA Corp. This new company marks a transition from the brand's stewardship in the United States from Benny Shabtai and Seville Watch Corporation, who has led the brand here for over 33 years. RW USA Corp. will be headed by Olivier Bernheim, president and CEO of Raymond Weil Genve and the son-in-law of the founder, Mr. Raymond Weil. Joining him will be his two sons Elie and Pierre Bernheim, the grandsons of the founder. The new company will remain headquartered at 635 Madison Avenue in New York City. We wish to thank Benny for his help establishing and developing Raymond Weil in the United States and his commitment to our brand for many years , Bernheim said. Raymond Weil sales employees from Seville Watch Corporation have been offered new positions at RW USA Corp. to continue the brand's success story in the U.S.The goal of the operational change is to build a stronger U.S. bu
Shinola Black Blizzard Titanium Chronograph Watch
For 2014, US-based Shinola in Detroit will release their first titanium watch with the Shinola Black Blizzard Chronograph. The Shinola Black Blizzard will come in two case sizes and is very much part of their 2014 theme, which seems to be all about the rotating diver's style bezel. Buzz around Shinola is still high and their products genuinely look attractive; the question for me is whether or not their pricing is starting to get a bit more ambitious than the market can withstand in the long run.Shinola is very much about celebrating the USA. As you know, Shinola is a former shoe polish factory (shine-ola) and a few years ago was revived within Detroit to produce watches, bicycles, leather goods, and other items in the USA. In regard to the watches, they are produced using quartz movement kits from Ronda in Switzerland, while the other components for the watches are mostly from Asia. The manufacture location in Detroit assembles the watches and give the products that good ol' feeling o

Flip 5711 and add cash for an AP 15202 + PP 5167?
Is this something you would do?I own a blue 5711 which I really enjoy wearing, and do love a lot, but really can't get over the AP 15202. The octagonal design, the screws, and the movement, with the dial, just make a really cool watch. I don't think it makes much sense having both these pieces in a small collection of 4 watches, as they serve the same purpose.Would you flip, and add cash, for an AP Jumbo and Patek aqua on rubber?Or would you keep the 5711, and eventually add something else that catches your eye?
Daniel Day Lewis- 5167
Looked to me he was wearing a 5167 on The Golden Globes. Anyone catch that?
