SHOM or Sham?: Omega's 200 meter diver from the 70's
The Omega enthusiast may know that after production ended on the Seamaster 300 in 1970, Omega’s lineup of diving watches changed dramatically. Gone were the bombe lugs and family resemblance to the Speedmaster. In it’s place, there were a bunch of chunky, colorful divers. In the middle 1970’s, the diving enthusiast could get a Seamaster 120 and 120 chronograph, two 200’s, the Seamaster 600 “Ploprof” and the Seamaster 1000. This article will concentrate on the Seamaster 200 “SHOM.” These watches are plentiful on the market and usually in excellent condition. The Seamaster 200 range consisted of the 166.068 in “Banana” and “Poppy” colorways and the 166.091 “pilot line”. 5167 rubber strap sizing question
Hi everyone quick question here - just got my 5167 and wondering how everyone cut their strap to fit?I'm a 6.5inch and I've cut down to 8 slots from 12, and 6 slots to 6, and the clasp is sitting just right in the middleish .But it is still slightly too lose. not perfect tho, if 8-5 will be a better fit with , or shall I do 7-6?
Question about Rolex Explorer 114270
I've never bought a watch used before, and have been eyeing a new Datejust 116200. However, the more I research, the more and more I like the Explorer 114270 (36 mm). What is a fair price for one of these in good condition? What types of questions should I be asking and/or signs I should be aware of as I'm researching the purchase?Cheers!
Help me pick a Rolex for a casual, tech environment!
Hi all,I recently received an offer to join a technology company as a strategy manager. With this comes a signing bonus which I'd like to dedicate in part to purchasing my first Rolex.I'm in my mid-20s and looking for something that isn't too ostentatious or in-your-face, but suitable in a casual type environment. Initially, I've been thinking towards the Z Blue Milgauss or a DJ II / DJ 41 in blue with smooth bezel. Here's my current collection (I like to keep it small, so I may sell depending on what I pick up)- Tudor BB Black ETA version - Speedy Pro- JLC Reverso Grande Ultra Thin Duoface- NOMOs Tangente GangreserveThanks!!
