Omega Service: Good or Bad?
Hi everyone!Just want ask what is everyone's opinion/experience with Omega Service Centres? I bought a pre-owned ladies MOP Aqua Terra which I have just gifted to my sister. The watch was originally bought in the US in 2005 (I live in the UK) and is now going back to the US to my sister in San Francisco. It had a full service 18 months ago by by qualified watchmaker here in the UK. I just wonder should my sister want to have it fully serviced in the future, is it worth her sending it to Omega USA? I have read that Omega's customer service on the whole is not always consistent and I wonder what are others' experience is like. Thanks!Wen
They never had a 5522
Well last night on TheWatchBox Brian said they never had a 5522. I personally couldn't help but notice the Watch Encyclopedia's (Tim) expression after Brian said that. Tim is a great guy from what I can tell and his memory is down right perplexing at times but still thought I'd share since this was kind of a huge deal which many here took opposing stances. My stance was that dealers have ways of making over retail on high demand pieces by a number of different ways. To be clear, that is just my opinion and I'm not pointing fingers but do want to spread the word about any concerning details other members may want to know before deciding to make long term relationships with others.
Price for Patek Tang and Deployment clasp
Hi,As some of you may know I recently acquired a Patek Croc for my 5960/1a. I am really feeling this watch on the grey croc I purchased from European Watch Co in Boston. They did not have a Patek clasp or tang in stock so they gave me a generic tang. I am interested in purchasing a Patek deployment clasp. I went by my local AD and was quoted over $4,000 for one. It seems expensive to me. I was ready for somewhere in the $1500 range. I declined to purchase it and asked them to email me the price of the tang so I could decide which way I want to go. They never emailed me. Anyone familiar with pricing on the deployments (would rather have an oem deployment if possible but not at $4000) or tangs. And if different than what I was quoted where to get? Pic of 5960/1a on strap for those who haven't seen.
ADs in the West Palm Beach Area
Any AD recommendations in the West Palm Beach area? I'm headed there for work for the next few days.
Incoming BLNR aka batman
I live in Washington DC area and have been going to ad after ad for months looking for Blnr and did not want to pay elevated grey prices. Plus not find one anywhere but out of blue yesterday went to small town about hour out of dc and ad just got one in day before. I purchased it for MSRP, I asked about discounts but they would not budge so I guess lucky to get fOR MSRP. Def looks better than in person compared to Rolex website. Very impressed with look of blue, darker that pictures which is better for me. Excited today.
