Occasionally we come across brands that challenge the notions we have regarding watches and value. In the conversations we have, it's easy to overlook perhaps one of the most critical aspects of any watch, and dismiss it as not being a core value adder. That facet of a watch is simply design. A general term unto itself, this includes everything from the fine details to overall aesthetic to branding. It's so easy to get caught up in what movement is inside, what material is X or Y, we overlook that a watch's design might be derivative or a bit generic. We strive to look at an eclectic array here on w&w, but how often do we relate a detail to something from another watch, another point in time? Don't get me wrong, that approach has great value as well and I often love many of those watches, but isn't there and implicit value in something new? Teju Lizard skin that is...A while back I posted a pictorial of a Swiss Ammo Strap I had made by Dangerous 9.I recently received another custom strap made by strap master John Glance made from this very cool skin.The strap has one keeper and is 115 mm on the long end and 70 mm on the shortI should have gone more adventurous on the thread color, but I thought ecru looked best. Gray was my original idea.Panerai does not offer a lizard skin AFAIK...I really like this look.Cheers!

Saw this on Fleabay and like the way it looks. I really like the date disc in black and gold. The black and gold really works for me.Black & Gold Submariner 116613I wonder about DLC - Would clear DLC coating on all models models create a buzz if Rolex announced they would be doing this at Basel? They would be more scratch resistant. Then with the policy of removing stickers now seemingly falling into place, they won't have to worry as much about staff scratching the new in box watches at ADs.
