Why are watches today so big? That is a question we at watches-dealer get asked a lot - and it is a typical source of conversation (and contention) among people who like watches. It is true that wrist watches today are larger than they have been historically, but perhaps not as large as they were a few years ago. What we are talking about is mostly the diameter of a watch case (usually measured in millimeters) and to an extent the thickness of a case.How do you define a "big watch?" There is no specific size at which a watch becomes "big" or "massive" or "small." Though, I will say that people started commenting on large watch sizes when timepieces measuring 44mm wide from companies such as Panerai and others started to become popular in the early 2000s and, to a degree, the late 1990s.In the 1990s, the typical size for a men's watch was in the 37-39mm wide range. Watch stopped - uh!
A few days ago, I posted about watch winding times. Well, my ROO Panda hasn't moved in 2 days (after it was fully wound)I called AP on 57th st and was told to bring it in and that the Clearwater SVC center is closed until Jan 6th.Any ideas about how to get it working again?The crown feels very tight - had it in my winder at 600 bidirectional rotations/day. I'm slightly pissed...

Seamasters
Omega Seamasters are synonimous with dive watch, but it seems that finally omega is going back to its roots with the aqua terra range, where they were more dress type watches, which were waterproof. I think that at the moment seamasters are the most affordable of vintage omegas, and if you look, you can pick up all original nice omega seamasters for $200-300.here is an early 1950's one which i picked up from a friend..cost slightly more than that estimate.. buyt not too much more..here are my other semasters..when you think that these cost less than what fake omegas are bringing.. you wonder why anyone would buy a fake omega / rolex.. when you can get a real vintage omega for $$$$ less.

Hey FolksI am in the market to purchase my first Rolex after months of research and narrowing it down between the Panerai Luminor and Rolex GMT BLNR. Well obviously Rolex won because here I am.I live in San Francisco and checked out a few shops, but they all had me feeling uneasy with its authenticity.So I came to the forums as it seems to make more sense to buy from vetted sellers on here or am I crazy? Now I maybe wrong but hoping the experts can tell me if I am looking in the right direction.Interested to hear the community thoughts.CheersHack
