In the world of independent watches, brands like Damasko stand out. Small, family owned and operated, they produce a limited amount of watches per year with a focus on quality and technology that surpasses most brands many times their size. Though in a year, they might produce a fraction of what other sport watch brands do, and their name is not on buses or on shelves in watch shops across the US, Damasko still manages to produce truly exceptional pieces of engineering and for a good value too. Breaking in hornback straps
I was chatting with the AD and I mentioned how stiff hornbacks were. She recommended putting rice in a sock, tying it off, and microwaving it until it was warm. Then wrap your hornback around it. This supposedly will help soften the strap and bend it. Has anyone ever tried this?

Pricing
Hi guys,Long time Rolex wearer, but I think I'm ready to spend equal time here. After looking for a bit, I am pretty settled on a 5164A. Thanks to TRF, I've become very knowledgable on getting the right price for Rolexes, but I'm less educated on Pateks. How did you guys go when purchasing this watch? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Is there a Daytona SS shortage of supply from Rolex now?
I am guessing that a month or two prior to and up through Christmas that Rolex churns out extra supply of Rolex's including the Daytona. Right now it seems no one is offering a BNIB 116500LN Daytona. Is the next big supply coming toward Father's Day or maybe even Valentine's Day?I do understand supply and demand. Prices just keep going up. I may just opt to buy a 18K white gold Daytona as it seems to be a better value than the ridiculous pricing now for the SS models. It's also interesting how tastes have changed. Seems no one wants to be caught dead wearing a yellow 18K gold Daytona -- although the pricing seems indicative of a buyer's market.
