Watches NEWS
Xetum Kendrick Hands-On
We've discussed Xetum watches a couple of times before on worn&wound. First, with a look at their all black Tyndall, and then with a more in-depth hands-on of their Stinson model. Xetum's watches are intriguing pieces, with a distinct design that has managed to keep them fresh looking, although they have not come out with many new models. Well now we have the pleasure of introducing you to their newest watch, the Kendrick.Case: Stainless SteelMovement: ETA 2824-2Dial: WhiteLume: YesLens: SapphireStrap: Nylon NATOWater Res.: 100MDimensions: 40mmThickness: 11mmLug Width: 20mmWarranty: 30 day return / 2 year movementPrice: $995The Kendrick is a new model by way of a redesigned dial and different strap options that combine for a very different aesthetic. If I were to summarize the look of Xetum's other two models, the Stinson and Tyndall, I would say they are clean, elegant and conservative. They have clear military inspirations and go for a highly legible index design. The Kendrick c
New arrival: Omega SMP (blue ceramic)
In well lid conditions the blue color is really deep and noticeable. Turn off the lights and the colors, the bezel especially, will turn into different shades of grey in a very elegant way. The new non-wave dial gives the watch a bit more dressy look and feel.
New Aquanaut ref 5168G blue dial
Finally rumours are true. A new Aquanaut in white gold in blue dial. Blue is darker than I expected. I liked it.
Price increase imminent?
I guess it is futile to ask, you either know the answer to this question and can't post it here, or you don't, but I will ask anyway. A little guesswork and discussion never did any harm.Anyway, in another forum I came across a thread about dive watch A vs dive watch B. I did a a little research and found that one of these watches, an Omega costs almost as much as a new Submariner. To my thinking the Omega is not in the same league as a Submariner but the price is uncomfortable close. https://.omegawatches/en-us/w...ction/catalog/So, what gives? Is the Sub under priced? Is the Omega overpriced? Are they in fact equivalent watches so it makes sense to price them similarly?Given this situation and the fact that it is very difficult to get a new Sub, then I suspect the price of a new Sub is going up soon. Do you agree?
Replacement Value - Insurance Issue
Hi everyone. I recently lost my house and everything in a fire. Insurance has either ACV (depreciated cash value) option if you just want cash or a Replacement Value amount if you want to actually buy it back. For my DJ, I'm going with the Replacement Value because I want my 2 Rolexes back. With a fire, there is no jewelry cap like in theft. In your experience, will they price them at the current new retail value? Or the market value? I have late 90s models.ThanksEggman
