Wearing A Fortis Square Watch Does Not Make You A Square
Once in a while these days a simple watch comes out that is attractive and competent without being overly classic. The Fortis Square has a name about as simple as the watch itself. The appeal is there, yet beguiling. Fortis is known for making well built professional watches worn by pilots, astronauts, and similar demanding users. No current Fortis watch is a meant to be a jewelry watch, or anything too far detached from a functional companion. Hi all - thought I'd share as picked it up today when in the window at the AD. It's the Apollo 17 45th anniversary, and I'm not sure I've seen one on here yet.I love it. Not usually a fan of gold, but it's quite subtle and the blue is dark most of the time and comes to life in the daylight.The ceramic dial and bezel are great, and while it has sapphire it's nicely done.The adjustable bracelet is the nicest I have got (including my Rolexes) and made fitting a doddle. With all the upticks in spec, I think it was pretty good value although very little discount was available.The box is the usual omega thing, and is a thing of beauty albeit it will be seeing the back of my cupboard....Lots of pics - hope you like. Need Help. Patek Philippe 5196 vs 5296.
I'm planning to buy my first dress watch, and I want a Patek Philippe, white gold, but I'm between the 5196 and the 5296, manual wind vs automatic wind. I'm thinking about the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony too. Any advice and please with details, remember that is my very first dress watch. Thanks.
