How To Sell Watches Without Selling Watches
People who read aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer are generally rather enthusiastic watch lovers. They buy watches because of the design, movement and of course the utility of the piece. You people are actually the elite bunch among the world of watch consumers. The industry calls you anything from "collector" to "enthusiast" and sometimes if you are lucky, "influencer." However, the industry does not see you as the mainstream and that is because you generally are not. The mainstream these days sees the watch itself as the secondary reason to buying a watch. For them, it is about status, fashion, art and lifestyle. You can disagree with me all you like, but just visit your local department store and see what's for sale in the watch department. The fact that watches don't often sell watches actually makes it easier for big brand names and events to sell timepieces. Fashion brands often need only to put their name on a timepiece, and an event can associate itself with a limited edition watch and
Questions about Snoopy
After a long battle that saw my brains and better sense beaten to a pulp, my heart finally claimed victory, so I've now started researching the Snoopy Speedmaster in the hopes of buying one in the not too distant future. I've had a quick look around so far and there are some examples for sale but they seem quite expensively priced. I'm talking about nearly $6,000 though they're apparently in mint condition. I'm just wondering what everyone else would pay for a Snoopy today, in mint or great condition? Also are there any owners out here with pics to share :)? I'm not a die-hard fan of Peanuts, or Snoopy, but for whatever reason this Speedy just seems to tug at my heart strings. I've no idea why but that must be some sort of love lol. Copper
New Omega arrival - Oh yes.
Not quite what you think folks, but following my thread for the 1171 bracelet and a successful WTB, it has arrived. WIS said, its rattly, its flimsy, its tinny, go aftermarket. They were right. Its light, it rattles like there's no tomorrow and feels lighter than titanium. I LOVE IT :D .It melts into the watch, I had to spend some time carefully fitting in the end-links and boy they are a tight fit. But I am chuffed with the watch now. It is complete.Enjoy the piccies fellas the steel collection as it looks now:
Rolex 118206 Platinum Day Date
My wife joined the Platinum club with a 36mm Platinum Day-Date with a Platinum Myriad diamond dial. She absolutely LOVES it. I honestly cannot believe how heavy it is compared to some of my other watches. Something special about a Platinum watch. Happy 5 year anniversary my love As you can see, it was a little cold outside taking a couple snaps.
Go for the trade, or not?
AD is ok for a straight up trade between my 16610LV (V serial) to their JLC Master Control Date ()So that gives it a value for my LV at around $6300 (a little more than what I paid for). What do you guys think?
