At The Intersection Of Watch Lover And Asshole
Gawker blogger Hamilton Nolan once again recently waxed poetic on his love of hating assholes. A January 2013 Nolan opinion piece is one that made me chuckle more than once on his rather astute observation that "assholes love watches." Pointing out this fact, he then asks the rhetorical question of why [do assholes love watches?]. Though he doesn't leave the reader without at least a theory. So do assholes love watches?Nolan's post apparently isn't a reflection of what Gawker media feels about watches. About two weeks later the site posted an article titled "A Dozen Watches That Cost More Than Your House." That sounds like just the sort of article that would attract none other than the asshole Nolan was irritated with. And he was irritated. Just arrived, my new speedy!!!
Hello all, What can I say, I've been wanting a speedy pro for some time. So I ended up getting one in today, and I'm blown away already! Coincidentally, the date on the warranty is my birthday! Must have been meant to be. Have a great weekend everyone!
Blue Speedmaster Chrono -- Thumbs Up??
So, I'm looking at a Tudor Chrono -- Real nice. Then, wow, find out I can buy a new Omega Blue chrono for about the same price. I like the blue dial and bezel, sorta like the white gold rolex Sub I can't afford. Though, of course the Rolex isn't a chrono. Anyone have one of these Omegas? Are they nice? Show some photos maybe?? Thanks, Chuck
512 or 531
What do you think? These are two very different watches, in very different sizes, with very different complications. I like them both on their own merits, but I am concerned the 531 might be too big (but then again, that's what you expect from Panerai). It's feeling like a pretty tough choice for me right now. I want something to compliment my BLNR.
