Citizen Eco-Drive World Perpetual AT Watches
Citizen's featured mainstream new watch collection for 2010 is this Eco-Drive World Time Perpetual AT line of timepieces. Based on a newly developed movement, the collection comes in a large range of styles, in various price brackets. From sporty to sleek, there is a World Perpetual AT watch for everyone. They are based on the new H144 Eco-Drive quartz movement that has a lot more features that it might suggest at first glance. For me, this watch is about offering the functionality and feature set excepted in Citizen and other similar Japanese watches, but in a very classic, simple looking design. A major philosophy in Japanese tech watches like this is the "set it and forget it principle." Which is actually a bit different than the European ideal of constantly attending to your watch. Actually, I think the same philosophy exists in the respective cars made by the Japanese and the Europeans. After being initially set, and given the availability of light, the World Perpetual AT watch sho
Benarus Sea Snake Review
Benarus stands out from the pack of boutique tool dive watches with designs that tend to be more unique and perhaps divisive. A perfect example of this is the last watch of theirs we reviewed, the Megalodon 500. This dual crown diver has some of the most extreme looks of any watch we've looked at. Yet despite the shock value, was an awesome and memorable watch. More recently, we've actually reviewed their sister brand, Raven, whose Rolex inspired watches are fun, stylish and tough as nails. For an inside look at the brand, check out our interview with co-owner Steve Laughlin.Today we're going to look at a watch they've made for sometime, but comes and goes in terms of availability. The Sea Snake is a 500m tool watch with looks that are inspired by a classic, yet somewhat less discussed, dive watch, the Breitling SuperOcean. More known for their racing chronographs and pilot's watches, Breitling also made one of the most beautiful and unique dive watches in the 60's. The SuperOcean has
New Nomos Alert: Introducing The Metro 38 Datum, With An Updated Dial And Larger Case Size
Today, Nomos announces an addition to their line of crisp, contemporary Bauhaus-inspired watches: the Metro 38 Datum. The changes are subtle, but they make for a clear delineation between the original Metro and this new version. There's no longer a power reserve indicator on the dial, facilitating the shift of the Nomos insignia from 9 o'clock to 12. Additionally, the case diameter has increased just a bit, from 37 mm to 38.5 mm with a thickness of just 7.75 mm. A Cleaner Update To The Original Model 2 OF 3 The Nomos Metro with in-house Swing System escapement was first?introduced at Baselworld 2014. The removal of a slightly off-center power reserve indicator results in a dial that is cleaner than the original Nomos Metro (above) introduced last year. From an aesthetic perspective, the design is more harmonious with Nomos' time-only models, like the Tangente.Painted dots at 3, 9, and 12, which were once sea-foam green in color, are now rendered in
A question for Diver owners...
I had a play with my rotating bezel a bit ago and noticed that when I unscrew the crown it feels different compared to the winding crown. The winding crown feels smoother than the internal bezel crown. It has always been like this and I have thought nothing of it until now but though I would just check this is normal to put my mind at ease!
Patek 3800 dial question
Can anybody please verify for me:Did the SS Patek 3800/001 come in just one dial that looked blue/grey/black depending on lighting, or were there two separate blue and black dial variants? Many thanks!ben Singapore
