Is This What Luxury Smartwatches Will Be Like? Pioneer Jorg Hysek Presents Designs, Interview
Jorg Hysek is one of my favorite watch designers. In addition to designing some really iconic watches over the last 30 years, Hysek is among the few designers today so strictly focused on the future while respecting those things that make the Swiss watch industry unique and traditional. Jorg Hysek even had his own "Hysek" brand, even though it was sold years ago and he is no longer associated with it. He then went on to start HD3 and later Slyde (hands-on review here) - an electronic luxury watch that was admittedly ahead of its time, which if begun today might have had a totally different trajectory. Jorg is now focused on the emerging world of smartwatches with the idea that real luxury smartwatches will not come from one source, but will be the accumulated efforts of multiple parties. Jean Dunand Palace Watch
It is cool, it is crazy, it is almost $420,000. "Piece Unique" watch maker Jean Dunand presents the Palace watch. A pretty incredible looking timepiece. In addition to my article over at Haute Living (see link bel0w), I have for you what I believe are the very first live photographs of the watch, that I was able to take. Enjoy itI certainly did.Read my Jean Dunand Palace watch article at Haute Living here.
Breitling Experts -Your advice & knowledge, PLEASE!!
I mostly hang out in the Rolex posts as the wife and I have 7 of their watches, but we are also Breitling owners. A few years ago, I purchased a Breitling Cockpit with a TT steel bracelet. It has been trouble-free watch and keeps great time and is well made.. I bought my Cockpit BNIB for a great price -45% off retail. I quite agree with the posters in other threads that it is a big error to buy a Breitling at retail. You take a big hit after the door closes.Breitling is also being slammed by some for using cheap ETA sourced movements, although they have recently started their own manufacture. Rolex, of course, has all their in-house movements tested by COSC standards, but so does Breitling who even provides the COSC certificate enclosed with their watches.I have a chance to purchase a BNIB Breitling for Bentley Mark V1 for a 60% discount. I have always been attracted to the Breitling Bentley line, as well as the actual vechicles they represent. I believe the watch should be termed NOS,
