Close-Up: The New-Look Rolex Submariner (with Video)
Subtle but significant redesign is the hallmark of the redesigned Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner. The watch retains the Submariner’s immediately recognizable look but dispenses with the date window of previous models and incorporates several new technical innovations exclusive to Rolex. The watch’s unidirectional-rotating 60-minute graduated bezel is now enhanced with a black insert made of virtually scratchproof, non-fading, corrosion-resistant ceramic that Rolex calls Cerachrom. The graduations are coated in a PVD process with a thin layer of platinum. The hour markers and hands on the sleek, black dial are filled with Rolex’s proprietary Chromalight luminescent material, which emits a blue glow that the company claims lasts twice as long as that of other luminous substances used on watch dials.?The classical Oyster case of the new Submariner is 40 mm in diameter and water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters (1,000 feet). The case middle is crafted from a solid blo
My Franc Vila EVOS 8 Cobra Watch Article On AskMen.com
Right before I wrote this article I was fortunate enough to actually meet with Franc Vila himself. He showed me a selection of watches from his collection, including the Cobra models that I wrote about for AskMenwatches-dealer (see link below). It was interesting that I met with the man who made a watch I was about to write about. I was literally assigned to write about the watch a few hours before I met him, so it was a total coincidence really. He is a charismatic fellow who is more a watch enthusiast turned watch company owner as opposed to being a introverted watch maker like the hardcore fellows. He has a deep connection with the designs and a close relationship with his customers. What amazed me about the watch is just how solid they felt. If you've ever picked up a watch that felt like lots of pieces put together, you'll now what I mean. The Franc Vila watches feel like one solid piece. Check out my discussion of his mainstream Cobra Chronograph line of watches.See my Franc Vila

Introducing the BR 126 Sport Heritage GMT & Flyback, A Modern Favorite With A Twist
To all those with frequent flyer miles, here is an interesting update: The Bell & Ross BR 126 Heritage Sport GMT & Flyback. Before we get into analysis, let’s take a short, philosophical flight into Bell & Ross’s venture – one that is often the subject of scrutiny by watch…purists. There’s no denying the widespread vintage appeal that has recently consumed the watch-market. Throwbacks are on the rise as watch lovers dig deeper into history and appreciate the genesis of timekeeping. Many brands bring us re-issues of their most memorable models from the last century. But, what about watches that weren’t alive in the 50s and 60s? What about watches that never struggled through the quartz revolution? We like pedigree as much as the next guys, but the reality is that these youngster-brands were raised in a world of abundant water resistance and astronavigation.Bell & Ross is one of these 90s kids. It can’t bring you re-issues, becau
Breitling 2010 offerings
just been on the site and had a look at the 2010 models, just wondered what you all made of the watches coming out this year.the galactic range have caught my eye especially the chrono version .it seems to me that the non chrono Galactic is still powered by the Breitling 13 movement.so no inhouse movement for these newer watches as with the bo1.however the newer dials have been influenced by the latter model.Seems to me that the Galacti range are a replacement for the chrono cockpit/cockpit which i aways had a soft spot for but never saw at any ad's!!what do you a make of their effort this year?
