On November 14th, 2014, I personally invite you to join myself and fellow watch lovers in participation with sponsor Hublot to celebrate the launch of my debut book The World's Most Expensive Watches here in Los Angeles at the historic and very trendy Chateau Marmont Hotel at 8pm in the evening.Space is limited, and since the event is coming soon, you'll need to RSVP by November 10th. The party will take place at a private suite with terrace at the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood, where guests will eat, drink, talk watches, and enjoy a private signing event with myself for The World's Most Expensive Watches book. New Planet Ocean 8500 Liquid Metal Titanium
I debated whether I should get the Planet Ocean 8500 Liquid Metal Titanium since I already had a regular Planet Ocean 8500 but I couldn't resist any longer. I had to have it and I think it's different enough for sure now that I have both. The blue is an awesome shade and it changes hue in different lighting. I got both the rubber strap and the bracelet just like I did with my other 8500 to change things up. I am a big Rolex fan but the PO 8500 at 45.5 MM is perfect for my nearly 8 wrist. Add the 8500 movement with clear case back and if you buy grey market like I do, you have an awesome watch for an awesome price. Super satisfied with these Planet Oceans.

Something new from Omega
Bill (gaopa) and I stopped by a local AD last Saturday on our way to the GTG at Pappasito's. We had a nice visit although Bill resisted picking up a new PO that he tried on. Fortunately, they did not have the watch I wanted in stock so neither of us added to our collections.But we did walk out with some neat swag:As some of you golfers may know, the PGA Championship will be held at the Atlanta Athletic Club next week and the AD will have more Omegas in stock than their normal inventories of Rolex and Breitling combined. Hopefully, the 2011 POs will have arrived as well.Fr. John?

First Patek - 5146 / 5396 / 5205
Fellow Patek enthusiasts,I'd like to hear your thoughts on a first Patek. While I'd love a 5711 in steel, we all know the premium is just too high right now on the 2nd market. I'm OK building a relationship and growing my Patek collection over time. I'm current loving my BLNR and have on rotation a 116520, a 116400GV, a IW3799-01, and a IW3905-02.Let me know what you guys think!
