Turning The Crystal Upside Down: Clever Method Of Placing A Magnifier Lens
It was probably Rolex that pioneered the use of a magnification lens on a watch's crystal over the date to enhance the wearer's ability to see the date. They were most likely to first to use this technique although it is unclear whether they invented the concept. Since Rolex starting using magnifier lenses, it has been a controversial watch feature. While most people don't need the magnification lens (sometimes called a "cyclops") to read the date, it is a nice addition to have when you want to know the date at a glance. And for some people, the date is just too small to be read without squinting.Rolex put the magnifier lens on the Submariner (not Sea Dweller model) watches and the Datejust models (among other Rolex watch models). The placement of the date and magnifier was specifically chosen where it is, because if wearing a watch on your left hand, it was the first part of the watch that emerged from your sleeve, allowing quick reference to the date. New Seamaster Regulation
I have only had my new Seamaster Pro for 1 day but I have noticed that since 9.00 pm last night it has gained + 6 and is likely to be over + 7 by the 24 hour mark.Should I give it a bit of time to wear in or take it be regulated ? My Submariner ran at + 3 out of the box and my DJ at + 1.Beautiful watch - It's the blue dial with the wave pattern. This is my first Omega (although my father is an Omega man) and I am very impressed. Omega seem to be in the position that Rolex were in about 20 or 30 years ago before they started to realy hike their prices and bling up. Rolex have now blinged up too much for my tastes - I hope that Omega continues to resist that temptation. Thanks
The tenor of the Patek sub-Forum on TRF...be a gentleman
Be a gentleman. As a fairly active member since early 2014 with a respectable number of posts, I see the tenor of the Patek sub-forum on TRF changing.I view TRF, which is public internet forum, as a place where watch enthusiasts can engage, share ideas, and without judgement, share with words and photos in a passion of luxury goods that in today's world could be perceived as showing off. Even the most entry level Rolex, for example, could be considered showing off for most of the population. We, as watch owners, enthusiasts, and collectors, are fortunate. I will never discount the hard work that goes into one's success (yes, there are those who are given or bequeathed large sums, but good for them, no judgement), but I always will be grateful for the opportunities I was given. I have tried, and continue to do so, to take advantage of these opportunities with utmost integrity and concern for others, and to provide for my family and for others in need and charities. However, the TRF Pa
